Trivia
- Cranky Kong expressed desire in the Donkey Kong 64 players manual that poor Winky and Expresso should appear in the game, not that swordfish or that "bone-brained rhino that always seems to get in the games".
- Flibbits, the tropical frogs from Banjo-Kazooie, were based on Winky's design.
- In Banjo-Tooie, the evil witch Gruntilda let her last name, Winkybunion, slip out during the final boss fight. Banjo proceeds to call her "Winky".
- In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the Xbox 360, there's a large vehicle shaped like a frog called 'Big Winky', presumably a reference to Winky the Frog by Rare (who developed both games).
