Director’s Notes
Hello readers! Welcome to Pipe Plaza, the only 'Shroom sub-team that sounds like an actual location, well I guess apart from Critic Corner (and no, I was not hypnotised into saying that last part).
Paper Yoshi (talk) is still studying for his exams, and I'm certain he'll do brilliantly at them. Other than that, Pipe Plaza is running as usual, which is what I like to call "Tabled Chaos".
We managed to get 21 votes this month, so we still have a bit of a mountain to climb to get up to the other teams, but I'm sure with our perseverance we will be able to make it. I'll see you here next month.

Tip of the Month
If you're like me, worried that something will go wrong while you're editing the Wiki, then you may write up the information you want to put in an article in a word processor first, save it, then copy and paste it into the Wiki. This can be good help, because you have access to Spellcheck and grammar checks from your word processor, but be careful: text pasted from word processors doesn't translate very well into Wiki code at times. The biggest stumbling block is often single apostrophes, which are used for bolding or italicizing text. Before you hit submit, make sure that you view a preview of your section to check and make sure that the words you want in bold or italics appear the way you want them to.

Greetings! I am Alex95, here to tell you more about an upcoming game and my thoughts about it.
Have you ever wanted to create your own role-playing game in the vein of Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy? Then perhaps RPG Maker Fes is for you! Having used/am currently using RPG Maker programs to create my own games (more on that later, maybe), I was really excited to hear about RPG Maker Fes coming to the Nintendo 3DS. RPG Makers have mainly kept to computer systems in recent years, though the first versions of the programs were released in Japan for the Super Famicom and PlayStation systems. Just a fun fact for you there.
Anyway, what is RPG Maker? As the name implies, it's a program that allows you to make role-playing games! You can create your own characters, story, graphics, the whole works. Create your own world, place enemies within, strategize puzzles, and go on an adventure! Want to create a simple story where the handsome hero rescues a beautiful princess? Or maybe you want to follow the villain of a story and go on a rampage? Whatever story you come up with, you can create!
Now, RPG Maker Fes (whatever the heck "Fes" stands for. "Fantasy…engine…something") may appear to be a bit streamlined compared to, say, the recent RPG Maker MV, but it still holds a lot of content to help you create that dream game of yours. You can personalize your characters however you want and give them unique attributes. Then create the enemies you'll fight along your journey. And finally, build the world you've always dreamed of! RPG Maker Fes allows a wide array of customizable options and skills that even someone with as low as no game making experience can pick up and start building a game. Don't feel like you can build a game from scratch? Don't worry, the game has you covered! Right off the bat, RPG Maker Fes starts you off with premade characters, enemies, items, and skills that you can either tweak or just use as is. With an SD card in your 3DS, you can save up to 16 games in the system, so you can let your siblings create game worlds of their own (and believe me, they will want to) without having to worry about your game getting messed up.
Perhaps you just want to see and play what others have created? Or maybe you're in a game designing slump and need some inspiration? RPG Maker Fes allows you to share your creations online and play games others have uploaded! Don't have RPG Maker Fes, but want to see what others have created anyway? A free app in the Nintendo eShop called RPG Maker Player will allow you to play other people's creations even if you don't have the main game itself! (You still need the actual game if you want to create something, however.) Essentially, you can play numerous games for free! That app will be available the day the main game gets released.
Thoughts
The only limitation I can find between Fes and other RPG Makers is that you can't import custom assets like graphics and music, which is a bummer. Perhaps I'm missing something, but at least there is a lot of content for you to work with, enough that you can create just about any setting you can think of! If you already have RPG Maker MV, or maybe RPG Maker VX or VX Ace, then you probably don't need to pick this up. But if this will be your first foray into RPG Maker designing, then I highly recommend this. Simple, portable, and awesome! Analysis
- Older Stuff: According to a very specific group of people known as “Anyone who happens to read our main page,” older items like the thing from that one game there that those people really liked should come back! In fact, 1,284 out of 2,012, or about 3/5, of the people say Nintendo should bring back the olden days of items. I agree with them. One of my favorite things in older games is the Metal Cap, which unfortunately died after Mario 64. Unless you count ROM hacks, which I do play a lot of. Then there's the 19 people who think everything is about being new. I disagree. Sure, maybe there can be some new things, but one-offs shouldn't exist all the time.
- Switch Online Service: Three quarters of a thousand people, or 750, don't have their minds made up yet because the whole thing is pretty vague. All I really know about it is that you're going to have to pay to play online. Y'know what I say to that? DUMBEST THING EVER. One of the things a lot of people like to do in video games is play with other people. You used to be able to play online as much as you wanted, free of charge. In fact, a while back, I spent a few hours playing online battle mode in Mario Kart 8 and got my BR up to, like, 7500 or something. But you want me, a 15-year-old with only 73 dollars in my bank account, to pay real money to play with other people? Yeah, I don't like that.
- Biggest Flaw: If you know me, you know that I really don't like New Super Mario Bros. 2. I was actually really looking forward to it, only to be disappointed by how mediocre it was. I would actually say it falls under every single one of these options, but since you're only allowed one choice, the people went with story. Which makes sense, because literally every single Mario platformer has the same story: Bowser kidnaps Peach. You save her. Yaaaaaay it's boring. We want variety, okay, Nintendo? The other popular choice was difficulty. Going back to New Super Mario Bros. 2, I saw a video once about the easiest infinite lives trick in Mario games ever. The maker of that video talked about a lot of different tricks, but the final, and easiest one goes as follows: “Get your copy of New Super Mario Bros. 2 – and play the game. That's it.” (Video here. Specific clip at 4:45) It's impossible to get a game over in that game, which I don't like. So, voters, let it be known that your opinions are good on this question.
- Do you read the 'Shroom? Well, if you answered no, then you're probably not reading this. That crowd includes...974 people who either don't read it or don't know what it is. Everyone else, yes, I'm talking to you, either said they read it all or only read some sections. If you said you read it all, then hello there, one of 110 people. If you said you read some of it, hopefully you read Pipe Plaza because you get to see nice sections like this! And now I don't really have anything else to say about this question.

It's been a wonderful journey through the glorious land that we call the Poll Committee. I hope you've gained some type of knowledge that you can apply to your life. If not...that's probably typical. Hello, readers! I'm your Spotlight manager and Pipe Plaza Director, Yoshi876. Welcome to Retro Feature, a section in which I delve deep into the archives to bring you the best blasts from the past. It will come to no surprise to anyone, that I'm a fan of Pipe Plaza. Yes, Fake News is funnier, and Fun Stuff is funner, but Pipe Plaza is the little well-known section that's always there to give some handy stats when you're in need of them. Over the years, Pipe Plaza has had sections like Mario Calendar (now moved), interviews, and game previews. Today we generally boast around nine or ten sections a month.
Pipe Plaza came into existence in Issue XXXII, and we've been running ever since. Pipe Plaza has had four directors in its lifetime: Super Mario Bros. (talk), Marioguy1 (talk), Paper Yoshi (talk), and myself, Yoshi876 (talk).
However, you're not here to hear me rattle on about past writers, you're interested in old section, so have this edition of Pipe from Issue LII.

The Porcupuffers
The last awards meeting was held in the night of 6 or 7 May (depending on your timezone). There may be one more meeting after E3 depending on how many interesting things get revealed, but the regular meetings have ended.
A lot of prizes are games distributed via Steam, but Steam has changed the way gifting works, so it now requires more coordination to correctly distribute items. Existing purchases don't appear to be affected.
A good alternative is using Humble Bundle Store, as they provide download codes that do not expire if distributed incorrectly.
Secondly, an alternative is monetary donations to Hypnotoad, which he will convert into gift cards.
Next month, the polls will open, and the Community Awards dossiers will be published in this paper.

Since last month, more tournaments have been posted on the Awards board on the forums. Because there was only one last month, I just made a quick note about it, but now it is time for a neat table!

The Community Awards have been completed, with a total of six removals (five User awards and one 'Shroom award) and two new awards, for a total of 15. 'Shroom-related awards have the infix "'Shroom" added to make clear what the awards are about.
Additionally, the full review of all awards has been completed.
