Error when Submiting

I am getting a database error whenever I submit an edit:

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

    (SQL query hidden)

from within function "SearchMySQL4::update". MySQL returned error "1194: Table 'searchindex' is marked as crashed and should be repaired (localhost)".

Assist Trophies & Pokemon

OK, as you people may know, there has been a debate over the Assist Trophy characters. Should they have their own articles, or should they be put on the Assist Trophy page. Well, the opposed won, and the articles were STILL made. So, I am bringing it here to get more results. NOTE: The result of this poll is temporary. A new decision can be made when the game has been released.

If all else fails, when you find foreign source, use Babel Fish or Google translator. The translation might be shaky, but they generally tend to be accurate.Saudy^Talk!

SSB Emblems in Corner of Articles

I think the only emblems in the upper corner of articles should be the FA star. This is the Mario Wiki, so we don't need to identify every article with a SSB symbol. ♥♪!? 18:58, 19 July 2007 (EDT)

Why do you hate them? That took me ages to do, and why exactly are you dissing them. I only put them on, because on the Trivia Section, it states what the characters Emblem is, so I put it at the top to show what it looks like. So, what's you're problem with them? My Bloody Valentine

Also, the symbol images aren't transparent, which makes them very annoying for my yellow skin. {{SSB fighter infobox}} takes care of this now, so when adding that template to articles, can anyone (DP?) doing it also remove the corner item? Ending the War

Okay guys, I'm asking you all nicely forgive and forget all the past events that have happened. I've removed every section pertaining to the stupid flame war. Why? First of all, it has almost nothing to with MarioWiki and doesn't increase productivity by adding sections like those. Second, why do we want to argue about whose fault it is and stuff. If you guys want to argue and blame people, do it elsewhere, not on the main page. Comments like those are not what the main page is for. Unused Image deletion

On the wiki, unused images are not needed and can be deleted. However, not all images with no links to it are unneeded. You never know who removed an image from the page, or if others disagree with removing it. In a matter of seconds, the image is deleted before the case is settled. Now we have to find the images again and re-upload them. What's the purpose of deleting them so quickly? I believe unused images should be somehow tagged. Then, you could wait one or two days to see whether the image is really no longer needed. Then you could still delete it. - Cobold's two cents... 04:58, 21 July 2007 (EDT)

Agreed. Wait at least a day, and see if it is REALLY being unused. Don't act TOO quickly, some people might still be using those Images. My Bloody Valentine

Maybe we should have some template {{unused}}, which has one variable, the date of tagging (~~~~~), and adds it to a category Unused Images. Merging

I have started to think that the article's Yoshi (species) and Toad (Species) should be merged with Yoshi and Toad. It gets too confusing to tell whether the yoshi is THE yoshi..... know what I mean? Who's to say really? (except game creators, and there not here)? Oppose? Support? - Ultimatetoad

I say keep the articles as is. It may be confusing to tell what Yoshis are the Yoshi, but we're sure that Yoshis are a species and there is a sole Yoshi by the name of Yoshi; the same goes for Toad. I say keep them. YELLOWYOSHI398

Paper Jorge, Having too completly distinct characters of a certain species and having two characters with the exact same name and look of the rest of there species is not the same thing. Whos to say, for example, that the Yoshi in Paper Mario is'nt THE Yoshi, or that the one in Super Mario Kart is? and Cobold, you are half-right, but Toad's were known as Mushroom People back then. And, Sir Grodus, I also think that Baby Yoshi and the different colored yoshis should be merged with the species page, but thats for another time... - Ultimatetoad

Reviewing Help Pages

Is anyone against me "reviewing" all pages in the Help namespace, using a template similar to {{PAIRreview}}? I've noticed some Help pages have been copied from past wikis, making them hard to read and such, and even though I'm not an admin anymore, I'd like to start a drive of revising these help pages to near-perfection. Ads

OK, I had no problem with the ads running along the sides of pages, but now they're starting to get on the bottoms of articles as well. Is there a way to fix this? It just seems awkward having the articles all interrupted by the ads. Phoenix Rider 09:06, 29 July 2007 (EDT)

You can remove the ads in your custom monobook. Use this:

 #footer {display:none}

During Super Paper Mario, when the player gets to choose her answers to Francis's swoon.exe. If the player agrees to marry Francis in one of the questions, Peach will say "Hey! Who's picking these answers anyway?".
