Hammer Pendulums,[1] originally known as Swinging Hammers,[2] are a type of platform in the Super Mario series. They first appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
Swinging Hammers are objects in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Two are encountered in the second half of World 8-6 only. They are usable solid platforms that swing back and forth on a 180° arc.
New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]
Swinging Hammers are objects in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U. They are encountered in Hammerswing Caverns and Hammerswing Hangout only, respectively, and appear in both levels in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Swinging Hammers now have the ability to move on tracks.
