“You might recognize this pop song from the radio in Dribble's taxi in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$. It's the perfect soundtrack for long drives into the sunset.”
In-game description, WarioWare Gold

"Drifting Away" is a song featured in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!. It serves as the background music for the gameplay portion of Dribble & Spitz's stage, playing on the radio while they drive a customer to the Diamond City harbor.

The lyrics of "Drifting Away" allude to Dribble's taxi and the ocean, which is likely in reference to their passenger, who turns out to be a mermaid. There are four variants of the song, each named after a season of the year, which switch off after each loop of the song.

"Drifting Away" appears in the minigame Jump Forever, along with Four Seasons and the Jumpin' Rope theme. After Kat & Ana's stage is completed, this is the default tune until the player scores 100 jumps. The song also plays in the second level of Dr. Crygor's microgame Cymbalism.

In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!, an instrumental remix serves as Dribble & Spitz's theme. The player can also view a "Drifting Away" music video in the "Movie Matters" section. This version fades between each of the four variants of the song. An excerpt of the "Spring" and "Summer" variants can also be heard in the "WarioWare, Inc. Medley" in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

A special arrangement of the song, which only features the "Spring" and "Summer" variants, is included on the album Nintendo Sound Selection Vol.3: B-Side Music.

In WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, one of 18-Volt's records is an arrangement of Drifting Away titled "Floating..."

The song reappears as a record in WarioWare Gold, using the Mega Party Game$! arrangement. The European release of Gold retains the specification of Mega Microgame$! in the English description, despite that game being subtitled Minigame Mania in that region.

Japanese script Romanization Translation

こがね色の あなたのクーペ
たっぷり バターをぬってあげるわ

街をぬけて 桟橋へ (LET'S GO! LET'S DRIVE!)
息を止めを閉じて 1・2・3

濡れる頬 夢中でおよげ そして
波間に 漂う声を ふりきって ねぇ

こがね色の あなたのクーペ
ささやく 波間で一休み

Kogane iro no anata no kūpe
Tappuri batā o nutte ageru wa

Machi o nukete sanbashi e (LET'S GO! LET'S DRIVE!)
Iki o tome o tojite, wan, tū, surī

Nureru hō muchū de oyoge soshite
Namima ni tadayō koe o furikitte nē

Kogane iro no anata no kūpe
Sasayaku nami made hitoyasumi

Your golden-colored coupe
Looks like it has butter spread all over it

Go through the city to the pier (Let's go! Let's drive!)
Hold your breath and close your eyes, 1, 2, 3

With wet cheeks, swim in a trance, then
Let the voices on the waves drift away

Your golden-colored coupe
Takes a rest on the whispering waves
