Template:DKClevelbox Clam City is the sixteenth level of Donkey Kong Country (fifteenth in GBA version), and is the sixth and final level of the Vine Valley area in the SNES version, and the fifth level of the Vine Valley area in the Game Boy Advance remake.

This level is the second underwater level in the game, but unlike Coral Capers, this one takes place in the sea (instead of a lakebed). Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are bound to meet various aquatic enemies such Clambos, Bitesizes, Chomps Jr., Chomps and Croctopi. But as the name of the level implies, Clambos are found everywhere in Clam City, shooting multiple pearls at the Kongs. Observing each Clambo's attack pattern is highly recommended to go through this level safely. Enguarde also appears in a secret area in the level. This is also the third level not to feature any bonus areas.

The beginning of the level.

The level begins with a Clambo guarding a patch of bananas. If the player goes north, they will see a wall that seems to be real, but it actually leads to a room with Enguarde the Swordfish and the letter K. The level is difficult to complete if the player does not get the animal buddy here. Leaving the secret room and continuing east, a DK Barrel can be found. then the player must go south, while avoiding the first Clambo to shoot multiple pearls. In the next room there are many fish and the letter O is found in a section up top. Past the fish is another Clambo guarding bananas, and the player must go north to avoid it, then move on past more Clambos and the first Chomps Jr. in the level. There is also a DK Barrel up here. If the player goes south-east, they will find the level's Star Barrel.

The second part of the level gets much more difficult. As the Kongs move north, south and north again, they must avoid several Clambos, with one shooting three pearls. There will be another DK Barrel, followed by many Chomps. The Chomps seem to move on a timed basis, but they turn around when the Kongs move close by. To the north-east of the Chomp area is the letter N. Continuing east, there will be a golden Winky statue and a Clambo shooting five pearls. Even more east there are many Croctopi patrolling the area. One Croctopus guards the letter G. From there the Kongs will find the exit.
