Template:DKClevelbox Temple Tempest is the fourteenth level of the classic Super Nintendo game, Donkey Kong Country, as well as the sixteenth level in the game's Game Boy Advance remake. It is also the fourth level of the Vine Valley area in the original, and the sixth level of Vine Valley in the Game Boy Advance version.
This is the second level to take place inside an ancient temple. Similar to Millstone Mayhem, this stage hosts many Gnawties riding huge rocky wheels in order to crush the Kongs. However, this time, they will chase the Kongs throughout the whole level, until they are blocked by a wall. Donkey and Diddy must swing on ropes and avoid Kritters, Zingers and other Gnawtys to escape being crushed. The Gnawties move fast, so the heroes can not dawdle.

From the start of the level, the Kongs must walk east and defeat three Gnawties to find a rope. When they grab onto it, they will swing across a wide abyss. On the other end of this gap, they must sneak under a Gnawty. This foe and his millstone will begin to chase them. The monkeys will have to dash over a small pit to reach a ledge, where the Gnawty will stop moving. From there, the heroes need to head over another gap with a rope and run under the next Gnawty. It will chase them to another abyss. There, the Kongs will have to swing along a rope to reach the other end, where the Gnawty will stop. Another Gnawty will be waiting after this. Once it chases the Kongs, they must grab onto a rope and swing to another rope. This will will take them to an area with a large wall in the way. Before the Gnawty runs over then, Donkey and Diddy must climb up a nearby rope and hit the Star Barrel.
Halfway through the level, the heroes must defeat some Kritters and hop over a millstone inside a small alcove. Once the millstone is passed, the Gnawty will make it go after the monkeys, who should race over a gap. When they get over the small gap, they will have to hop over two alcoves with Zingers in them, and then jump along three unmoving ropes to find an area with a tire. They must bounce off of the tire to reach the next area, where the Gnawty will cease to chase them. At that point, the group must head down a ledge and beat a few Kritters. Eventually, they will have to bounce on a tire to cross a pit and then jump off of another tire to reach a small platform above a vicious Gnawty. They should jump over the enemy and run away as it begins to chase them. When the monkey run away, they must hop on two stationary tire and cross a large abyss. Soon, they will find another set of tires to bounce and get over a large abyss. Once this pit is passed, the Kongs will fall in a deep alcove. They must use a tire to bounce out of it and avoid the Gnawty, who will stop at that point. From there, the animals must journey to the east and leap over a millstone. The Gnawty beneath it will begin to control the millstone and chase them. They will have to run to a rope and glide over a wide abyss to find an exit sign. The dangerous Gnawty behind them will fall into the abyss before this, so the Kongs are safe at this point. If they walk a little bit farther at the exit sign, they will complete the level.
