Spiked Koopa
Spike Bro. was the first boss in Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land and was a member of the Brown Sugar Pirates. He resided at the end of the Rice Beach stage and was armed with spiky armor similar to a Koopatrol In his fight with Wario, he employed a three-pronged attack of striking from land, air, and underground. His shell makes him invulnerable to ground pounds and fire. However, he could be rammed into, exposing his soft belly. After three hits to his vulnerable underside, he was defeated.
Spike Bro. also appeared in a Nintendo Power special, where he was called Spiked Koopa Troopa. This has caused confusion of what his species was; his game name and armor implies he was a subspecies of a Hammer Bro., but his facial appearance and Nintendo Power name implies he was of Koopa Troopa origin.
