“Go straight that way. You can't miss the mess, pal! Your first job's to get rid of all that ugliness. And remember, we'll be watching you, pal. We'll know if you start slacking off.”
Isle Delfino Police, Super Mario Sunshine

The Isle Delfino Police,[2] also known as Pianta Police,[3] are the principal law enforcement agency on Isle Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine. The officers arrest Mario because they suspect he is responsible for polluting Isle Delfino with graffiti, when it is actually Bowser Jr. (disguised as Shadow Mario). After Mario is put on trial, they order him to clean up all the goop on the island, a task that he must complete before he is allowed to leave. The Isle Delfino Police look very similar to normal Piantas, though they wear blue shirts, as well as police caps that have a Shine Sprite logo on them. The two officers seen in the game are a blue one with a mustache and shades, and an orange one with glasses; the former is the police boss, and the latter is an anxious newcomer.[4]

Near the beginning of the game, when Shadow Mario tries to kidnap Princess Peach and Mario chases him, they run right by the Isle Delfino Police, who seem oblivious to this; for the entire course of the game, they are under the impression that Mario is responsible for the pollution and continue to tell him not to slack off.

In the Super Mario Mash-up in Minecraft, Butcher Villagers are replaced by an Isle Delfino Police officer.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Isle Delfino Police cannot get stuck in goop; this can be seen when Shadow Mario kidnaps Princess Peach, as the M Graffiti he draws do not affect them as they do the other characters.
