Effect Increases Mario’s Defense by 1.
Description(s)
Decreases the damage that Mario takes by 1. (Paper Mario)
Boost Mario's Defense by 1. (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo GameCube)
Boost Mario's Defense by 1. Wearing two or more of these badges further boosts Defense by 1 per badge. It has no effect on attacks that ignore Defense. (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo Switch)

Defend Plus is a badge in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Paper Mario, it is found in Shy Guy's Toy Box, in a chest by the pink station reached by using the jack-in-the-box. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it is found in Twilight Town, in the Twilight Shop's storage room, and Rogueport Underground, in a hidden room only accessible with Boat Mode. There is a very rare chance that Chain-Chomps and Bob-ulks can hold these badges, and Ms. Mowz can steal the badge from them, but only if they are the closest target in range. It can be sold for 150 coins. If equipped, it raises Mario's defense by one, making him unable to be harmed by weak enemies such as Goombas. Equipping multiple Defend Plus badges increases the effect.

Merluvlee's prediction in Paper Mario[edit]

  • "I see...a Defend Plus Badge. It's in the Toy Box. You go to the right at the pink station and jump on the first jack-in-the-box. You go all the way to the left and find it tucked away inside a treasure chest."
