Bazooka's Barracks is the home of Bazooka in Mekanos in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. It is also where Bazooka's cannon, Big Bessie, is located. In the Game Boy Advance version, the location is named Brigadier Bazooka Bear and takes place within an artillery bunker instead of a cabin. Bazooka's Barracks becomes accessible once Dixie and Kiddy Kong complete Mekanos' first level, Fire-Ball Frenzy.
Appearance
Bazooka's Barracks is a cabin like the other Brothers Bear locations, and it has a tall counter that Bazooka stands behind. There are three barrels stacked against the wall to the right and two barrels and a small cardboard box containing some supplies in the foreground. To the left of a 4x4 window is a graph, possibly of Bazooka trying to figure out Big Bessie's aim, and to the right is a yellow frame containing some medals.
In the Game Boy Advance version, Brigadier Bazooka Bear is a bunker with a metal-like exterior, and it has Big Bessie on top of the roof. From inside, the location has a low ceiling and a long, thin lookout window. Bazooka is on the left side, standing behind a tall barrier made up of several sandbags. There are a couple of crates in both the foreground and background. On the right side are two sandbags and three missile shells, two of which are orange and one of which is red with a white tip.
History
When Dixie and Kiddy first visit Bazooka's Barracks, Bazooka expresses his desire to fire up Big Bessie again, but does not have any ammunition to do so. However, if the Kongs visit Bazooka's Barracks once they obtain the bowling ball from Blue's Beach Hut, Bazooka decides to use it as ammunition for Big Bessie, which can then blast Dixie and Kiddy up to a secret cave, Sky-High Secret.
