Template:Character-infobox King Zing (Japanese: キングB, King B) is the boss of Krazy Kremland in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. He appears in the levels Rambi Rumble and King Zing Sting. When Diddy and Dixie Kong first enter the level, they see a Squawks Barrel that they must jump into to transform into Squawks and fight King Zing.

Rambi Rumble

King Zing appears near the end of the level. Here, he begins to chase Diddy and Dixie, who have transformed into Rambi, upon reaching his location, and chases him until he reaches the end of the level.

King Zing Sting

In order for Squawks to score a hit on King Zing, he has to hit King Zing's stinger with his eggs. After an egg hits King Zing, he starts to flash yellow and red before returning to normal, resuming his normal patrol around the level, but going a little faster. If Squawks hits him again, he turns red and starts chasing Squawks while shooting out stingers in all directions three times before returning to his normal state.

After Squawks hits him in the stinger a few more times, he transforms into a normal Zinger and turns red and shield himself with four yellow Zingers that surround him. King Zing then starts to chase Squawks again. Squawks has to defeat all four of the Zingers. Once they are all defeated, King Zing becomes a yellow Zinger and it takes three more hits to finally defeat him. If he isn't quick enough at defeating all of them, the yellow Zingers then regenerate.

In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, King Zing is hardly changed. The only differences are that King Zing is slower and his stingers are faster. Also, his stingers in the remake only make one sound per blast, instead of a continuous sound.

Trivia

  • Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong show a shocked expression before they fight a boss. However, they do not express shock when facing King Zing.
  • Oddly, Screech's theme song plays in the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2, while King Zing is chasing Rambi through the stage, despite that the original song is still present in the sound test menu. It is unknown if this is a mistake or if it is intentional.
