Template:Level Pirate Panic is the first level of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. It is located on the Gangplank Galleon.

The level is populated by many Neeks, Klomps, and Klobbers who are not much of a threat to Diddy and Dixie Kong. There are also many groups of stacked-up barrels that the Kongs can climb on to reach collectibles. Exclusive to Diddy's Kong Quest, Kaptain K. Rool's cabin can be found this level, which holds an Extra Life Balloon and a note from the crocodile himself, stating that he has kidnapped Donkey Kong and is holding him ransom for the Banana Hoard. Much like in the first level of the original Donkey Kong Country, the Kongs discover Rambi, who is needed to bust open the entrance to a Bonus Level.

Level Layout

Diddy Kong runs near the Rambi box.

At the beginning of the level, there is a straight path leading under a trail of bananas, which the Kongs can optionally collect if they throw one another into a hidden barrel at the start of the trail. A doorway with a pair of bananas in front it is farther ahead that the primates can enter to find a letter from Kaptain K. Rool and an Extra Life Balloon. A pathway is ahead of the bananas that leads the heroes up some stairs with a Neek on them. A crate stands at the top of the stairway near some large barrels that can hold up a nearby Klomp. They can find a Banana Bunch above the barrels. A stairway leading downwards is after these barrels, taking the Kongs towards a flat area with some more large barrels that they can stand on. A gap is between some of the barrels, and the letter K floats above this gap. A crate and a DK Barrel are ahead, followed by a stairway with Neeks on it. Four barrels sit at the top of the stairs with bananas on it. The fruits are formed in the shape of the letter R. The letter O is just ahead in a lower part of the ship, along with two Klomps. The Star Barrel follows the letter.

A DK Barrel is after the Star Barrel, as well as a stairway holding two Neeks. A gap in the ship is ahead, but the Kongs can jump into it to find special items. On the other side of the gap, there is a Klobber and the letter N. These are followed by a tall pile of barrels with Klomps stomping around them. A crate with Rambi is on top of the barrels. More bananas in the formation of an R are also near here, being followed by stairs that lead down to a trail of Neeks. Many barrels that can be stood on are piled up ahead in a lower part of the ship. Bananas in the formation of an arrow are in front of them. Neeks march in the area ahead of here in front of some large barrels that can be jumped on to reach the DK Coin. There is a stairway after here that can be walked up to reach two Klomps, one of which stands on a few large barrels. Two more over-sized barrels are ahead with a Klobber on them. They can help the heroes jump to a raised part of the ship, where a No Animal Sign can be find. It can make Rambi disappear if he is in use. A barrel can be found nearby. It can help the heroes bounce on the End of Level Target next to it. The level is complete when this is landed on.

Diddy Kong travels through the level.

The level begins with a straight pathway leading down some small ledges. As the Kongs drop down these ledges, they come up to a Neek, a DK Barrel, and several bananas. A raised part of the ship is ahead with another Neek and more bananas on it. Some more ledges follow this raised area that the primates must drop down to reach a flat section with some over-sized barrels piled up on each other. The letter K can be reached with the barrels. Three small, raised parts of the ship can be found ahead of here. At the highest point of the ship here, the heroes can find a small ledge that they must drop down to find an area with more barrels stacked on each other. A Banana Coin floats near them. A Klomp marches next to another large barrel close by. A stairway leading up to a Neek and another ledge is ahead. The Kongs must travel up the ledge to reach an area with a small gap in the ship. The letter O is above the gap. After dropping down a few ledges after this, the Kongs reach the Star Barrel.

More ledges follow this barrel. At the bottom of the last ledge lies a large barrel that can be used to reach an Extra Life Balloon. Before a few more ledges found nearby, the heroes approach a Neek and a Klobber. When they reach the top of these ledge, they find a DK Barrel, a Neek, and a normal barrel. There is a ledge near here that has the letter N floating above it. Four barrels are piled up next to it. A straight pathway is ahead of here. Klomps march all the way across it. A stairway is after them that the primates can walk up to find a Neek and a Klobber. Two groups of barrels are stacked up in this area. The first stack can help them reach a Banana Coin. A few ledges are after the second stack of large barrels. They lead down to an area with a crate and some barrels that can be jumped on to grab the letter G in the air. A Klomp and a stairway follow. The stairway takes the primates into an area with a crate, a Klomp, and a spring. If the heroes bounce off of this spring, they are sent out of the level.

Secrets

K-O-N-G Letters

  • K: The Kongs can find the letter K between two over-sized barrels immediately before the first DK Barrel.
  • O: The letter O floats above two Klomps just before the Star Barrel.
  • N: The letter N is shortly after the first Bonus Level near a Klobber.
  • G: Just before the No Animal Sign, two Klomps can be found walking around a group of large barrels. The letter G is in the air near them.

Bonus Levels

File:PiratePanic165.PNG
The Kongs climb barrels in the first Bonus Level.
  • The first Bonus Level is found in the large crack in the ship. If Diddy or Dixie jump into it and move right, they can be blasted to the first Bonus Level. Here, the Kongs must jump on tall piles of barrels to reach the Kremkoin on the highest pile. They must grab it within 20 second to successfully complete the bonus.
  • The second Bonus Level can be accessed if the Kongs use Rambi to smash through a door in the ship near an arrow that is formed by bananas. Here, they must defeat all of the Neeks and Klomps who are scattered around the area on barrels all over the ship. Once they are all defeated, a Kremkoin appears for the heroes to get. The Kongs have 20 seconds to complete this Bonus Level.

DK Coin

  • The DK Coin is found next to a formation of large barrels. The Kongs must jump up on the stairs of barrels, where the DK Coin can be seen to the right. The primates must simply jump up and reach the coin to get it.

Warp Barrel

  • The Kongs can find a Warp Barrel hidden above the first barrel platform in the level, which can be found after the first crate in the level. They must use their Team-up move to reach it. If they throw on another into the space that the invisible barrel is located, the Warp Barrel appears and sends them into a Bonus Level that takes place on a ship, where they can find a group of bananas that form an exclamation mark. If they walk into a doorway to the right of the bananas, they are taken out of the bonus and onto a barrel platform placed immediately before the End of Level Target.

Golden Feather (Game Boy Advance version only)

  • To find the Golden Feather, the primates must travel through the level to find bananas forming the shape of the letter R on top of four barrels. If they use their Team-up move to the left of here, they can throw one Kong up into the air, who can grab the feather high above the barrels.

Photograph (Game Boy Advance version only)

  • To find the photograph in this level, which can be used to add a picture of Rambi into the twelfth page of their scrapbook, the heroes must first visit Wrinkly at Kong Kollege and learn about their "homework". After this, they must head to Pirate Panic's second Bonus Level and defeat the first Klomp. Once this is done, they are given the photograph.

K-O-N-G Letters

Diddy jumps towards the letter O.
  • K: The letter K can be found next to the first pile of large barrels.
  • O: The Kongs can find the letter O above a gap immediately before the Star Barrel.
  • N: Shortly after the Star Barrel, the letter N can be found next to a pile of four barrels.
  • G: The letter G is after the second-to-last crate in the level. It is in the air, but the heroes can grab it by jumping off of some large barrels.

Bonus Levels

  • Unlike most Bonus Levels, when the Kongs find this Bonus Level, they do not discover a Kremkoin, but instead a shortcut through the level. Therefore, they do not have to find this Bonus Level to complete the game 100%. In order to find this Bonus Level, Dixie Kong, after passing the second Neek in the level, must jump from the edge of a raised part of the ship and use her Helicopter Twirl to hover past a pair of bananas. If she hovers ahead of the bananas, she should land in an invisible Warp Barrel that sends her, along with Diddy, to a Bonus Level when entered. Here, Dixie and Diddy can find several bananas and a Banana Bunch in a ship-themed area. If the Kongs walk into the doorway in the right side of the area, they are taken to the final crate in the level, which is located just before a spring that they can bounce on the complete the level.
  • Near a large pile of barrels, Diddy and Dixie should see a Banana Coin with a trail of bananas under it. If Dixie Kong is used at this point and flutters to the right, she should see a Bonus Barrel in the air. When she travels into it, she and Diddy are sent in a Bonus Level, where they must go across another ship area, jumping on barrels and reaching higher ledges. A Kremkoin is at the end of the ship.

DK Coin

  • On the pile of barrels near the letter N, the Kongs must jump to the right and get into a smaller barrel. It should shoot them to the DK Coin, and then to the ground.
