Close Call is a badge in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Paper Mario, it is found on Goomba Road, inside a red ? Block found along the path, and in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it is found in Petal Meadows (in a ? Block near the entrance); bought from the Lovely Howz of Badges after Chapter 1 for 100 coins; or rarely held/dropped by Goombas, Spiky Goombas, Paragoombas and Koopatrols. If Mario is equipped with it, all enemy attacks have approximately a 33% chance of missing Mario when he is in Danger, which occurs when his HP is five or lower. This badge stacks with Pretty Lucky and Lucky Day to boost Mario's evasion further.
