Is there any proof that this exists? -- SuperYoshiBros 11:49, 17 April 2013 (EDT)
Rename
We should rename this to "Yoshi's New Island" it was confirmed on Nintendo Direct. Kingfawful4321
Fang boss, but Fang enemy
It's been revealed that there is a boss based on the Fang enemy. Does this mean that Fang will appear as a normal enemy considering that usually the bosses aren't just a one-off creature and Fangs are usually a common enemy? Yoshi876 (talk)
Developer
It's been made by Arzest. This company is completely different from Artoon? Tempest Tales 14:40, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
Name
According to Nintendo UK, the name "Yoshi's New Island" isn't final.

I'm looking at some of the references and some are attached to thing that have images later down in the page. Should we keep the reference tag on these images considering we have pictures that prove they are in the game on the page? Yoshi876 (talk)
Big Egg
I remember seeing a video of Yoshi's New Island were Yoshi swallowed a Huge Shy Guy and produced a Big Egg and threw it. The pretty much destroyed everything in its path and it bounced twice, each time it bounced it turned yellow and red. The Quagulator (talk) 13:13, 16 July 2013 (EDT)
Image Sources
I see a bunch of new artwork in the image gallery, featuring characters like Kamek, Baby Bowser, Gustys, and Goonies, among other things. Where are people getting these from? Whybee (talk)

have you noticed that Yoshi has no legs, only feet in game maybe a Reference from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island --Kamek33 (talk) 08:50, 1 March 2014 (EST)
Enemies
I've seen every Yoshi's Island enemy in the game return except for Aqua Lakitu, Barney Bubble, Beach Koopa, Biting Bullet Bill, Boo Balloon, Boo Man Bluff, Bouncing Bullet Bill, Burt, Cactus Jack, Chain Chomp, Chomp, Fat Guy, Frog Pirate, Fuzzy, Georgette Jelly, Green Glove, Hot Lips, Lakitu, Loch Nestor, Melon Bug, Mini-Raven, Mock Up, Naval Bud, Piscatory Pete, Podoboo, Potted Spiked Fun Guy and Spiked Fun Guy, the Slimes in 6-4, Slugger, Spike, Spooky, Stretch, Train Bandit, Wild Ptooie Piranha, and Zeus Guy. The rest of the enemies I'm sure return, including Tap-Tap the Golden, and Chomps got replaced with ones that are shot out of volcanos, and I saw a white Segmented Pokey as well. And I think the bouncing beans are called Beanies because the boss based on them is called Big Beanie.

Don't worry, I was listing the enemies that DON'T return. User:Smithuser
Blarggs
I'm putting the enemies Blargg and Gargantua Blargg at enemie's list. I'm writing this to show images that they appear at the game. Also, the small Blargg is a normal Blargg or a Konubaba?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by BlooP-OW (talk).
I think they're called Blarggs, because I think one level acknowledges the big ones as Gargantua Blarggs, so they must be Blarggs. User:Smithuser
Question
I doubt the guy who put whirly gates in did a correct reference, I searched the whole website for the name but I couldn't find it. Can anybody please clarify these items really exist? Nevermind. KP (talk · edits)

Longest Time Between Release
Obviously this in itself isn't true, but I'm pretty sure it's the longest time between America and Japanese releases when the American release is first. True/false? Peanutjon (talk) 21:21, 26 June 2014 (EDT)

New revival
I think that Yoshi's New Island is to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island like New Super Mario Bros. is to the original Super Mario Bros. game. However… does anyone think Yoshi's New Island sets out a new revival of the Yoshi's Island games, succeeding eight years of hiatus in the Yoshi video game series? Model rip ideas
I was surfing the net for modern designs of the Koopa Troop minions when Bowser was a young tyke, and I found an interesting think on your Italian counterpart wiki. https://www.mariocastle.it/wiki/File:YNI-Lanterasma1.png The Lantern Ghost in its modern design. I know you may have seen my desire for the Solo Toady to be properly ripped. So it would be logical to have your Italian counterpart and (Mostly) everyone find more YNI enemy models to rip, like Stilt Guy (All colors), Jean de Fillet, Bouncing Bullet Bill, and Bowling Goonie. Just throwing it out there, and happy upcoming October/a chance to obtain the Blue Fly Guy.--Hamshamcart (talk) 22:04, 29 September 2018 (EDT)
- I'll probably upload some of their models here (with proper attribution, as otherwise I'd consider it stealing) when they get more, like I did with the Sunshine ones. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:48, 1 October 2018 (EDT)
One question
I think that Yoshi's New Island is to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island like New Super Mario Bros. is to the original Super Mario Bros. game and Wario Land: Shake It! is to Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. However... does anyone agree that Yoshi's New Island began a new revival of the Yoshi's Island games, following six years since the previous Yoshi game was recently released in November 2007? --GuntherBayBeee 10:25, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
- I don't think that's long enough compared to lots of other series we would state that for, six years is often a fairly average gap between installments of series. Nightwicked Bowser 10:31, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
- I think six years is long enough to me. --GuntherBayBeee 10:35, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
- Putting this as an example for my point, six years was the gap between Luigi's Mansion 2 & 3 (12 between 1 & 2), and nobody has ever tried to state that series was being "revived" everytime they release a new game. Nightwicked Bowser 10:41, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
- So you mean Yoshi's Island DS began a new revival of the Yoshi's Island games after 11 years since Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was released? --GuntherBayBeee 10:51, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
- I think you are misusing "revival." That's mostly for things that were regularly ongoing before, and become so again after. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:31, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
