Genius Guys are green, super intelligent Shy Guys that used their brain power to make defenses for their home. One such defensive invention was their flying car (similar to the Koopa Clown Car used by Bowser) but armed with a high powered laser. Genius Guys have not appeared in Paper Mario but are believed to be the brain power behind Kammy Koopa's advice to Bowser.

Genius Guys have stolen the Deadly Guy title from Anti Guys because their attacks are much more powerful than their rivals. They are the strongest enemies that Mario battles, excluding a few bosses. Luckily, Mario has never encountered a Genius Guy in Shy Guy's Toy Box. This Shy Guy is guarding a treasure chest holding a Super Awesome Amazing Spectacular Superb Unbelievable Infinity PWNage Plus Badge. One other Genius Guy may reside in Bowser's Castle, but no one has lived to confirm this. note: Spear Guy, Dancing Spear Guy, Fly Guy, Shy Ranger
