The Mario Toy Company is a company that manufactures and sells toys known as Minis (including the Mini-Mario) in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. In later appearances, the company is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of various theme parks, notably Super Mini Mario World and Mini Land Theme Park. Mario Toy Company was founded by Mario according to the instruction manual for Mario vs. Donkey Kong.[1] Known employees include three Toads who manage the production lines for the Mini-Marios, although known affiliates like Pauline were also seen testing Mini-Marios as well especially in the final cutscene in Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!. Mario Toy Company's operations are usually intercepted by Donkey Kong due to varying motives, like stealing the Mini-Mario toys for himself, or even causing mayhem at its theme parks due to him not getting what he wants.
History
Mario vs. Donkey Kong / Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo Switch)
In Mario vs. Donkey Kong and its Nintendo Switch remake, Donkey Kong tries to purchase a Mini-Mario toy after seeing a commercial for the toys on television. However, all the stores are sold out of Mini-Mario toys. Due to his impatience from waiting for the next shipment[1], Donkey Kong travels to the company's factory and steals all of the Mini-Mario toys he can get his hands on, prompting Mario to give chase after him.
The first world is also named Mario Toy Company, although it mostly takes place in the outdoors surrounding the company's main building, which is visible in the background in all regular levels (Level 1-1 only in the remake). Despite this, Level 1-mm and Level 1-DK presumably take place in the company's storage warehouse. The first plus world, Mario Toy Factory, instead takes place in the company's Mini-Mario production line.
In the remake, the Mario Toy Company's main building has received a drastic redesign, featuring prominent red rooftops, arches, and an exterior made out of brick. It also has a redesigned logo that is modeled after the modern Super Mario series font, whereas generic text was used in the GBA version. The giant "M" emblem on the top of the building was removed, as it now situates near the entrance door instead. The background of Mario Toy Factory now also features more details to make it more clear that Mini-Marios are being produced there, as several units of them can be seen being moved along conveyor belts.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis
The Mario Toy Company is briefly mentioned in the intro cutscene of Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. Here, it is named Mini Mario Toy Company (although it is still referred to as Mario Toy Company in the North American version of the instruction manual[2]). Mini Mario Toy Company's success of their Mini Mario toy has earned the company a lot of money, which becomes Mario's main motive for opening its first theme park, Super Mini Mario World. Minis based on other characters like Mini Peach, Mini Toad, and Mini Donkey Kong are also featured in the game, presumably also manufactured by the Mini Mario Toy Company. Super Mini Mario World would also be later expanded upon in the follow-up, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!
The Mario Toy Company runs Mini-Land (also known as Mini Land Theme Park in the succeeding installment), the main setting of Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!. The company is also briefly mentioned in the character bio for the Mini-Marios in the game's instruction booklet.[3]

The success of Mini Land Theme Park in the previous installment has led to the Mario Toy Company hosting the Mini Toy Carnival in Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, according to the Nintendo eShop's British English listing for the game, and the game's electronic manual.
