Super Mario Bros. Wonder is an upcoming 2D Super Mario game for the Nintendo Switch, announced during the June 21, 2023 Nintendo Direct. It features a new art style and power-ups, including the Wonder Flower, with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshis of different colors, and Yellow Toad as playable characters. It is the first full-fledged new 2D Mario game since New Super Mario Bros. U released over 10 years prior. Not counting Super Mario Run, it is the first to not use the New Super Mario Bros. label since Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It is planned to release on October 20, 2023.[4]
