Screwtop Platforms are a type of block platform found in the New Super Mario Bros. sub-series.
History
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Screwtop Platforms first appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where they move either horizontally or vertically when the corresponding screw is spun on. The platforms slowly move back in the direction they came from when the player is not spinning the corresponding screw. They appear only in Template:World-link, where they appear throughout the level.
New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
Screwtop Platforms return in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, exhibiting the same behavior as in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, though the direction that they move in is now represented by a track that symbolizes its movement path. They appear in Stoneslide Tower in the former and in Wind-Up Tower in the latter. They also reprise the former role in the challenge Stoneslide Tower Climb.
Screwtop Platforms reprise the aforementioned roles in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
