Template:Quote2 "Soul Rumblings" is a song by Birdo that plays in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Paper Mario: Color Splash. While it has lyrics, they are not sung aloud and instead appear in captions.

History

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Birdo singing to Mario at Snow Rise

Named "Swinging Swing" in the Sticker Museum's sound room, the song plays at Snow Rise in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, where Birdo sings it to Mario and gives him the Goat Thing.

"Swinging Swing" can be played on the record player in the Enigmansion. The steward enjoys it and says that it "[m]akes a fellow feel right at home," while the forebear is confused and "doesn't get it."

Lyrics to "Swinging Swing" can be found in the trash at Shy Guy Jungle, slightly differing from the ones heard at Snow Rise.

Paper Mario: Color Splash

In Paper Mario: Color Splash, the song plays in two parts: the prelude is called "Careless in Love", while "Soul Rumblings" plays after Birdo appears. Both parts are performed at Plum Park, in front of Mario and an audience of Shy Guys. This rendition's lyrics reference Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic and the Flutter Jump move.

"Soul Rumblings" plays again when the Balloons Thing is used in battle, and in the credits theme, "Prisma Splash!"

Paper Mario: The Origami King

Although the song does not appear in Paper Mario: The Origami King, its lyrics are referenced at the end of the second act in the Big Sho' Theater when Birdo kisses Mario and says, "Tough luck, Overalls! Despite my prior warnings, here you are... with egg on your face."

Lyrics

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Snow Rise

CAPTIONS
Heart of a woman, heart of a man...
Both can know of love's grace...
Just try not to get egg on your face.

Shy Guy Jungle

CAPTIONS
Heart of a woman... Heart of a man...
Both shaken by love's grace...
So tie a pink ribbon, dance all about...
Just try not to get egg on your face.
