Lighthouse Island is a location from Paper Mario: Color Splash. The path leading here is unlocked after getting the Purple Mini Paint Star from Vortex Island, and unlocks a path leading to Fortune Island. The Lightbulb Thing can be found here at the top of the parallel world lighthouse, and is required to complete the course.

Layout[edit]

The ship crew comes across a complete wall of darkness. The captain sees Lighthouse Island ahead, and the ship docks there. Going left, Mario will find the crew at the lighthouse door, and the captain lets him enter first. At the bottom of the lighthouse is a purple Toad who sells Big Mushroom cards for 100 Coins. The third floor has a Toad trapped in a crate. At the top of the lighthouse, Mario meets a lighthouse keeper Toad, who runs off to an area north of the lighthouse. If Mario goes there, he allows Mario to access the parallel world; Mario also must pull on a vine to stop a waterfall. After this, Mario has to enter the parallel world.

The parallel world's wall behind the waterfall is cracked and can be broken with the hammer. This reveals a white, nonfunctional Unfurl Block. In the normal world, this block exists as a ? Block and can be painted in. Returning to the parallel world, the block retracts further into a cave as Mario tries to hit it. He must avoid or defeat multiple Ice Bros. and then unfurl a barrel, forming a bridge. Mario can reach the lighthouse. The parallel world lighthouse interior is totally dark and the bottom floor is infested with Buzzy Beetle Gangs, and the second floor has holes in the floor, so Mario must use his Paint Hammer to navigate. The third floor has a crate that can be broken, while the top of the lighthouse has the Lightbulb Thing.

With the Lightbulb Thing obtained, Mario has to return to the normal world's lighthouse. The Toad inside the crate is revealed to be Toad #22 of the blue Rescue Squad, and the Lightbulb must be inserted through Cutout at the top of the lighthouse. The lighthouse keeper begins dancing as the Mini Paint Star is illuminated. Mario must return to the ship and its captain, where the ship approaches the Mini Paint Star and Fortune Island.
