- This article is about a level in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. For a level in Donkey Kong Land 2 of the same name, see Klobber Karnage (Donkey Kong Land 2).
Template:Levelbox Klobber Karnage is the third level of the Lost World. It can be accessed via Klubba's Kiosk in Krazy Kremland.
As the name implies, this jungle level is dominated by Klobbers, as well as the similar enemies, Kabooms. The Kongs will have to deal with these barrel-covered foes throughout most of the ground areas in the level. Although constantly having Klobbers and Kabooms charging at them, the monkeys will also have to cross many spike-filled abysses, using the help of the Barrel Cannons spread out over much of the second part of the stage. Later in the level, they will have to put several Rotatable Barrels to use as well. Besides the sneaky Klobbers and Kabooms, the heroes will also encounter one of their biggest enemies, Zingers. These pests are found in many parts of the stage, especially near the end.
Level layout
At the start of the level, the Kongs must travel along the level and dodge a few Klobbers, Then, they will have to cross several abysses, trying not to fall onto the sharp spikes in them. After they cross these gaps, the monkeys will be bombarded with many Klobbers, including ones that steal bananas from them. After avoiding all those foes, the heroes must jump in either the Diddy or Dixie barrel and be shot to a set of barrels. They must use them to cross a large abyss. With careful aim, they should make their way to the other side of the abyss. From there, they will need to cross a smaller abyss and fight off several more Klobbers. Even the life-sucking Klobber is present in this area. After getting over a few more gaps, the Kongs will have to travel up to another abyss and cross it with the aid of many barrels. Beginning their barrel adventure, the monkeys will have to shoot into a Diddy or Dixie Barrel (depending on which Kong is in the lead) and continue to blast over the spikes below. Soon, they will land on a small platform, and have to hop right back into another barrel. They must shoot through the many barrels and eventually get to the other end of a wide abyss. Here, they will find the Star Barrel.
Halfway through the level, the heroes must jump over two small gaps and watch out for a few Klobbers and Kabooms. They will then have to hop into another barrel and begin to shoot into the following barrels after it. This time around, the abyss that must be crossed is much, much wider than the before ones, and Zingers can be found more often around each barrel. To make things harder, there are time limits on the barrels, and if the limit hits zero, the monkeys will be automatically blasted out. After shooting over some Zingers, the group will finally get to the other side and have to dodge a few Kabooms and Klobbers. After that, they will need to choose either a Diddy or Dixie Barrel to start shooting over another spike-filled abyss. This time, the obstacles are similar to the ones in the before gap, but they are much harder to avoid, and there are even shorter time limits on the barrels. Finally, though, the heroes will make it to the other side after shooting over several Zingers. At this point, they will have to hop over some spikes to reach a some ledges. As they watch out for life-sucking Klobbers on the ledges, they must climb up and find the End of Level Target. When they hit it, they may exit the level.
Secrets
Bonus Level(s)
- At the very end of the level, the heroes should pass up the End of Level Target and find a lone banana above them. They will have to use the Team Up move to throw a monkey to the fruit. If they do so, they'll land right into a hidden Bonus Barrel. In its Bonus Level, they must defeat several Zingers. However, they are all above an abyss filled with sharp spikes. The Kongs' only option is to hop into the Invincibility Barrel and become temporarily invincible. Then, they can run over the spikes and beat all the Zinger with one touch, but before the special ability wears off. After all the foes are gone, the DK Coin will appear.
Golden Feather (Game Boy Advance version only)
- Again, at the very end of the level, the Kongs should walk up to the wall and jump around. They will suddenly grab the hidden Golden Feather.
Photograph (Game Boy Advance version only)
- After the Star Barrel in the second half of the level, the heroes should find a Kaboom with a camera icon over its head. If the duo jumps on this foe and destroys its barrel, they are awarded with a photograph, giving them another picture for their scrapbook.
