Hey! Thanks for visiting my userpage! I'm Rykitu. Self-described Mario expert (unless you mention the RPGs). You may know me for my countless edits on various lists, mainly character related lists. Or you're just looking at peoples userpages because you're bored.

Besides that, I also like to research lesser known/lost pieces of Mario media and add missing info to history sections of pages. And every once in awhile I'll make a page where I can analyze media very few people care about because thats what I like doing. Or make a proposal for changes I feel like need to be made.

My history with the Mario franchise

My interest for the Super Mario series started what I believe to be the day Super Mario Run was releasing. When my dad downloaded the game and I played it nonstop. I even got him to pay the 10$ for the rest of the game. Eventually for Christmas I asked for a Wii (which I mistaken for a Wii U much like everyone else did), Super Mario Maker and Super Mario 3D World. All of which I never got, likely because the switch was already out. But I didn’t know about consoles at the time. After that, I slowly lost interest, until 2020 when I got back into the franchise. And when I get into a franchise, I typically see if it has a wiki and start browsing it. Which led me to the infamous fandom wiki. I browsed there for a few months until someone posted NSFW artwork of Max & Ruby (no, I kid you not. I am not sure how that even slipped through with their intense moderation). Which had me leaving that wiki in favor of this one. And after browsing this for a few years, I became a member. I really like it here, everyone is really nice, and we all share our special interest in the red plumber. This is, in my opinion, the greatest fan wiki on the entire internet. And it is an honor to be apart of it.

My goal on this wiki is to cover everything this wiki can cover. The only issue with that is I still wouldn't consider myself as a professional when it comes to editing pages. And covering multi-language media would be a pain because all I have is Google Translate with me.

The following is a list of Mario games I've played in one way or another.

Donkey Kong 3	NES	I understand why this game flopped. Not because it's bad, but because the genre completely shifted to every other arcade game ever.
Wrecking Crew	NES	Fun, but not fun enough for me to willingly complete all 100 phases.
Super Mario Bros.	NES	Great time-killer. But the controls aged horribly.
VS. Super Mario Bros.	VS. System	Fun when you see the cabinet and get the chance to play it.
Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels	Famicom Disk System	This game has a bad reputation just because it's hard. I personally think of it the same way as SMB1, just maybe play this instead if you're tired of seeing 1-1 for the 50th time.
Donkey Kong Classics	NES	Two mediocre games in one makes for a meh game.
Super Mario Bros. 2	NES	EXTREMELY UNDERRATED
Super Mario Bros. 3	NES	Great game, just make sure to play a version with save states.
Alleyway	Game Boy	Pretty fun, but repetitive overtime.
Super Mario Land	Game Boy	I feel the same about this as SMB1.
Tetris	Game Boy	Very addictive. Completely understand why it became the best-selling game for awhile.
Tetris	NES	Same idea, but in color
Dr. Mario	NES	Not skilled enough to get past around the 5th level
Dr. Mario	Game Boy	Same idea, but no color
VS. Dr. Mario	VS. System	For some reason when I got to play this game at an arcade, they had the 16-bit version in there even though a 16-bit version of Dr. Mario was never released

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins	Game Boy	Really fun and underrated
Yoshi's Cookie	NES	More addictive then Yoshi, but not as addictive as Tetris
Super Mario All-Stars	SNES	Great collection of remastered NES games. But it's overshadowed by a better version with an extra game.
Wario's Woods	NES	This game is literally impossible after you beat Fake Wario.
Donkey Kong	Game Boy	A great and super underrated game. This took way too long to release on NSO.
Donkey Kong Country	SNES	Pretty fun. That's all I'm gonna say.
Wario's Woods	SNES	I think this game is fun. I just wish I didn't play on mobile.
Tetris & Dr. Mario	SNES	Fun collection of addictive puzzle games.
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World	SNES	Better then the original Super Mario All-Stars in anyway all because of Super Mario World. I will look back at this game with fond memories.
Donkey Kong Land	Game Boy	Why did they think it was a good idea to port one of the most graphically impressive SNES games to a portable console that can't display color?
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island	SNES	7.8/10 Too many mazes.
Mario's Super Picross	SNES	Understanding how to play this game is tricky.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest	SNES	Fun, but the 100% conditions are ridiculous. But that can be said for all the classic DKC games.
Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars	SNES	I have no words for any of the RPGs.
Super Mario 64	Nintendo 64	Yet another great game. Every time I replay it, I always find fun.
Mario Kart 64	Nintendo 64	Rubber banding go brrr

Wrecking Crew '98	SNES	They turned a good time-killer into a confusing puzzle game.
Mario Party	Nintendo 64	Screw everything I said about Wario's Woods, Tug-O-War is absolutely impossible.
Super Smash Bros.	Nintendo 64	I have no idea how I beat the story mode in one go.
Game & Watch Gallery 3	Game Boy Color	Better then G&WG1 because I played it on a more professional console.
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe	Game Boy Color	Just play All-Stars. Unless You vs. Boo is your thing.
Wario Land 3	Game Boy Color	I understand why people like this series. It's just not for me.

Super Mario Advance	Game Boy Advance	Great remaster of a remaster.
Dr. Mario 64	Nintendo 64	I am not used to using arrow buttons on controllers with joysticks.
Mario Kart: Super Circuit	Game Boy Advance	It's Super Mario Kart, but better
Wario Land 4	Game Boy Advance	Much better than Wario Land 3. Pretty fun.
Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World	Game Boy Advance	Another good remaster that puts the Dragon Coins to good use and gives the Galoomba's sunglasses.
Super Mario Sunshine	Nintendo GameCube	Extremely difficult to the point I don't like it. The Lost Levels had a reason to be difficult. This is just unfair.
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3	Game Boy Advance	In all seriousness, Yoshi's Island is great.
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!	Game Boy Advance	This game is fantastic. Too bad they likely won't release Twisted on NSO.
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3	Game Boy Advance	The best advance game when it comes to improving the original.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga	Game Boy Advance
Super Mario Galaxy	Wii	I didn't grow up in the Wii era, so when I played this game in 3D All-Stars I didn't enjoy it as much as other people did. Mario moves too slow in my opinion. Still a good game though.
Mario Kart Arcade GP DX	Arcade	Fun when you have the chance to play it.
Super Mario Maker	Wii U	I played this game as a demo in a museum. But I was so young and trash at console games so I don't have an opinion.
Luigi's Mansion Arcade	Arcade	I might try the Luigi's Mansion series one day, but for now this is my only experience.
Super Mario Run	iOS/Android	My first Mario game! It's fine looking back.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe	Nintendo Switch	Great multiplayer game!
Super Mario Odyssey	Nintendo Switch	The best 3D Mario.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker	Nintendo Switch	I have no opinion
Super Mario Party	Nintendo Switch	They were WAY too generous in this one.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate	Nintendo Switch	7.8/10 too much anime sword fighters. Game is still good though.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe	Nintendo Switch	This game is overhated. The only reason people hate this is because they were tired of the NSMB series. I think it's fine.
Super Mario Maker 2	Nintendo Switch	I played this game to death when I got my switch. Very fun, but a bit too limiting.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars	Nintendo Switch	This game is the only reason I got to play Galaxy and Sunshine.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury	Nintendo Switch	"How do we know whats mainline?" "Everything is senseless cause there's no consensus!"
Mario Party Superstars	Nintendo Switch	Better then Super Mario Party in every way.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder	Nintendo Switch	Wonderful game!
Mario VS. Donkey Kong	Nintendo Switch	I think this is the reason why Nintendo won't put DK94 on NSO.
Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition	Nintendo Switch	I was immensely disappointed when I found out this game wasn't a proper championship.
Super Mario Party Jamboree	Nintendo Switch	Better then Superstars, but the method of unlocking things isn't good.
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD	Nintendo Switch	Pretty good, from what I've played of it.

Donkey Kong (coloring/activity books)	Book series	One of the first things I did on this wiki was for this series to get better coverage! Besides that, it's alright. I mean, you wouldn't expect peak fiction from coloring books meant for children. It does make you question about the Mario lore though.
Donkey Kong Goes Home	Album	This album tells you about what happened before Mario started climbing that construction site. Some songs do get stuck in my head sometimes, but there are some bad songs here.
Saturday Supercade	TV series	Mario's first TV show is also ok. But you should under no circumstances watch every episode back to back. It will drive you insane with the constant Wario and Waluigi-esque characters doing the same stuff for some "fortune". But there were some good episodes (for the standards I have for this show) like Greenhouse Gorilla and Junior Meets Kid Dynamo. It also created peak.
How to win at Super Mario Bros.	Book	This is a guidebook teaching you to beat Super Mario Bros.. Mostly known for using a unique design for Peach. Sparking a rumor that she was originally a Toad. It does it's job, but the ending is kind of confusing.
Famicom Manga	Manga series	This was a choose your own adventure-type series that was published in magazines by Shogakukan. It is so obscure that the wiki doesn't have a page for it yet. Both Mario installments were very accurate to the games. And if my translations were correct, I think a Blooper said the F word in one of the books.
Super Mario Bros. Original Soundtrack	Album	It sure is the soundtrack of Super Mario Bros. That I can listen on YouTube now before Nintendo takes it down because they want me to download a music app with not enough soundtracks.
Hisshō Technique Kan Peki-ban	Book	This is a series of guidebooks from Japan with 2 of the installments being based on Mario. It was ok, but I did like the Wrecking Crew segment.
Super Mario Bros.: Mario Syndrome	Album	Of the few songs that were here, both were great!
Sound Mario Bros.	Album	All of the songs on here were pretty good!
Super Mario Bros. Peach-Hime Kyūshutsu Dai Sakusen!	Movie	I don't know what it is about this movie, but I like it. The plot is interesting, the characters are great and the visuals are fantastic. The off-brand vibes this also gives off with mis-colored Luigi and Kibidango adds to the charm in my opinion. The only negative thing I can think of to say about this movie is the ending. I'm not a shipper, but Prince Haru being Peach's fiancé in this movie sounds like a self-insert fanfic. If Kibidango didn't become Haru and was Peach's pet dog or something and Mario and Luigi headed home, this would've been fine. Still a great movie, and dare I say better than the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Super Mario Bros. Peach-Hime Kyūshutsu Dai Sakusen! Original Soundtrack	Album	I also like the soundtrack of this movie! The fact that the album created for this movie was preserved is a miracle. Only 100 were ever printed and 95 of them were destroyed. It is insane that this got ripped.
Super Mario-kun (Shogaku Ninensei)	Manga series	I was the one who made a page for this on the wiki! It's alright, but the humor would not be acceptable today.
Mario no Daibōken	Video	Watching this with barely any subtitles was bizarre. Most of it is just gameplay.
Famicom Music	Album	This is terrible. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make an entire album of someone playing NES games with the sound effects, but it's awful. Never cook again.
Famicom Music Vol.2	Album	They made a sequel. Please no. End my suffering.
Fantastic World of Super Mario Bros. 3	Album	Nice renditions of the Mario 3 soundtrack. The last song is especially good.
Super Mario Bros. 3 ~ Akihabara Electric Circus	Album	Not as good as Fantastic World of Super Mario Bros. 3, but still good.
Super Mario (Kodansha manga)	Manga series	From what I've seen, this is something Nintendo would never approve of if it released today. I really like most of it, some stories had me interested and hooked me in and the characters were pretty good. But the one issue I have is the amount of fan service. Sometimes, I feel like I'm reading a genuine Mario manga. Other times I feel like I'm reading a p*rn parody. And weren't these meant for children? I don't even know. If you were to read the entire series, you would see Mario's p*n*s multiple times, Daisy's butt at least once, and other weird sh*t. Please do not read these for a 100% guarantee of not seeing those. And if you do, read the safe ones. (Unless you want to see weird sh*t). I know this is an issue with anime and manga in general, and is a major reason why the only anime I ever see is Mario related, but I feel like this is one of the worst examples. Besides that, everything else is good.
Super Mario Bros.: Trapped in the Perilous Pit	Book	It's a decent children's book. That's all I have to say. It was nice and interesting hearing Charles Martinet and the Super Show cast read the book though.
Amada Anime Series: Super Mario Bros.	Video series	It's alright. There was some Mario lore-screw up scenes. Such as Peach's parents being Hammer Bros., Mario being tiny and born from a peach, Mario holding a gun. Truly stuff you would see everyday.
Les Trésors de Super Mario	TV series	There is only 2 minutes of footage online, and I can't understand a thing so I have no thoughts.
Super Mario Land	Album	Great renditions of a great soundtrack!
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!	TV Series	This is pretty good. There were some great episodes. Only real complaint is Toad is kind of annoying. Not as bad as someone else we know, he is tolerable. But at the end of every episode, he would have this annoying laugh, which to this day I can still hear. And whenever King Koopa would escape through some portal, Toad always says "lOoK! hE's EsCaPiNg ThRoUgH a WaRp ZoNe!!!11!!" As no one does anything. But that's about it. Live action segments are also pretty cool.
King Koopa's Kool Kartoons	TV series	This is one of the most infamous pieces of Mario lost media. And from the clips I have seen, it gives me serious creepypasta vibes. Footage being so rare that the best chance of getting footage of this is having VHS recordings from the California area in 1989 doesn't help things either. Still a very interesting piece of Mario history.
Mario Ice Capades	Video	This is so bad, it's good. Jason Bateman somehow gets a virus in his NES, King Koopa becomes real and orders his minions to damage Jason's NES more and Luigi vaporizes everyone with a gun. This deserves all the awards.
Super Mario no Shōbōtai	Video	Mario and Luigi are firefighters now and tell people that fire is bad.
Super Mario no Kōtsū Anzen	Video	Mario tells some child to not ride his bike in the road while Bowser commits mass genocide or something.
Super Mario Bros.: Favorite Mushroom Party Hits!!!	Album	I didn't actually listen to the music here. All I care about is Captain Lou Albano Mario talking about stuff in between songs.
Super Mario Bros. (activity books)	Book	Just like the Donkey Kong ones, these are ok.

Mario trivia barely anybody knows about

• The Super Mario World popcorn machine and Janken Fukubiki: Super Mario World's soundtrack is taken straight from Mario Undōkai. Or vice versa depending on what released first.
• The ending of the fourth Donkey Kong coloring and activity book implies that Mario and co. are miniature creatures that crawl into their video games. Kinda like Wreck-it Ralph.
• One of the volumes in the Shogaku Ninensei version of Super Mario-kun is about Bowser getting extremely skinny and getting lit on fire like a match by Mario.
• According to the Mario Quiz Cards, Peach's blood type is O Positive
  • Also from the Mario Quiz Cards, Mario follows all religions.
• If the player is male and finishes the main story of WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and hovers over Mona's microgames as the text scrolls, Mona will call the player cute.
• Bowser has not 1 but 2 games if you consider ball-throwing arcade games video games.
