Description(s)
The more damage Mario takes, the more coins he receives. (Paper Mario)

Pay-Off is a Badge in Paper Mario. It can be bought from Merlow for one Star Piece, and is the cheapest Badge that can be bought from him alongside Attack FX A. If Mario equips this Badge, he receives more coins after battle if he takes damage. The amount of coins that are dropped is equivalent to the amount of damage he takes divided by 2 (rounded down). This is not affected by any damage done to his partners.

Merluvlee's predictions in Paper Mario[edit]

  • "I see...a Pay-Off Badge. There is a child upstairs in the fortune-teller's house on Shooting Star Summit. Hey! I'm that fortune-teller! Anyway, the child is my brother, Merlow. He will trade Star Pieces for Badges. Head upstairs to see him!"
