Nintendo101 (talk | contribs) (Based on its name in Japanese; the nature of its design as a gust with big, silly eyes; the history of the developers who created it (many of whom previously worked on Sunshine); and the introduction of Cluckboom (which is also a variant of a Sunshine enemy) in the same game, makes me inclined to think this is valid.) |

Wind Spirits[1] (also known as Gusts[2] or Cyclos[3]) are a species of enemy that appears only in Super Mario Sunshine. Their appearance is similar to a bluish-white square with an afterimage effect and surrounded by some winds. When Mario is on a high place, a Wind Spirit forms. It first spins around Mario, then suddenly stops and charges him. If it hits him, Mario usually gets knocked off the platform. Wind Spirits can be temporarily dispatched using FLUDD and defeated using a Yoshi's tongue. Wind Spirits yield a single coin upon defeat.
