Matching is a minigame that appears in the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Matching is used as the minigame for the blue and yellow doors of the Beijing 2008 section of the Gallery, and is based around finding a card in a large group.
Gameplay
In this game, the player is shown a card featuring the Emblem of one of the game's characters on the top screen, and must find the corresponding card in the large group on the Touch Screen. For each card the player finds correctly, their score increases by one. The player has a total of ten seconds across the whole minigame to find the cards, which only depletes while the player searches but pauses once a card has been selected. The player also has three lives which are used up by selecting the wrong card, though after selecting the wrong one, the player must then go on to find the right one rather than getting a new set. The minigame ends when the player either runs out of time or loses all three lives.
Difficulty levels
- LV1 - There are twelve cards on the Touch Screen, and the player must score five points to win.
- LV2 - There are fifteen cards on the Touch Screen, and the player must score ten points to win.
