Eely Mouth is an eel that appeared only once in Super Mario Sunshine. Eely Mouth has gingivitis (a dental problem), and is the cause of all the pollution in Noki Bay. Mario has to use F.L.U.D.D to clean Eely Mouth's teeth and in doing so helps to purify Noki Bay's water. If the monstrous eel swims up and sucks Mario inside its mouth, Mario will be spit back out and lose health. Large purple bubbles regularly come out of its mouth, and they are harmful to Mario, but if he sprays them with F.L.U.D.D., they will pop into a cluster of smaller regular bubbles that will refresh Mario's air supply without him having to look for Coins.

Eely Mouth has eight teeth in total. Four need to be cleaned, and three are rotten and must be extracted. This happens automatically when Mario cleans the tooth. One special tooth is golden when cleaned. Upon finishing the job, Eely Mouth retreats, leaving its golden tooth which turns into a Shine Sprite. Mario also gets twenty Coins in a heart-shaped formation on the seabed.
At the start of the episode Eely-Mouth's Dentist, the Noki elder explains to Mario that he has finally figured out the problem as to why the bay is polluted, and sends him to the ocean floor to fight Eely-Mouth. In battle, Eely-Mouth is aggressive and spins around very fast, then it rises upward and opens its mouth, giving Mario a chance to clean its teeth by spraying water at it using FLUDD. Toxic purple tears come out of Eely-Mouth's eyes regularly, and they damage Mario on contact yet refill his breath meter like regular bubbles. Once all the teeth have been cleaned, Eely-Mouth retreats back into its cave and spits out its golden tooth, which turns into a Shine Sprite. As Eely-Mouth recedes into its cave, it also leaves behind 20 coins in a heart-shaped formation, which float just above the mouth of its cave (collecting them is optional), most likely as a sign of thanks. There are a pair of eyes on both sides of the mouth; one pair appears to be male, and the other female. Eely Mouth lives in a massive underwater chamber below Noki Bay.
In Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and Mario Golf: Advance Tour, the name "Eely-mouth" can appear on the leaderboard.
