Lightning Lookout is the thirty-third level in the Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance game, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. It is also the third area of KAOS Kore. In the game's Game Boy Advance remake, the level is instead the thirty-ninth level, though still the third area of the world.
Lightning Lookout (parsed Lightning Look-Out in the original game) is the thirty-third level in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and the third level of Kaos Kore. However, in the Game Boy Advance version, Lightning Lookout became the thirty-ninth level, owing to Pacifica being a newly implemented world in the game. It is the last riverside level in the game. It takes place during a thunderstorm, and as Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong travel through the level, they must avoid being struck by lightning. The player can determine where the lightning bolt will strike when the tip of it appears overhead. About two seconds later, the lightning strikes the surface in the exact location. If the lightning strikes while the Kongs are swimming in the water, then the lightning bolt electrocutes them. The lightning can defeat most enemies except red Buzzes and the level's Koin. The Kongs can stand underneath a Buzz or Booty Bird to shield themselves from a lightning strike, but a Knik-Knak or a Barrel can also shield them.

After walking down a long pathway and avoiding more enemies, including Booty Birds, they find the Star Barrel near a ledge.

In this riverside level, lightning will shoot down at the ground, as if it were purposely in the Kongs' path. Before it strikes, there will be a warning flash above the spot where it will hit. If the Kongs are in the water and lighting strikes it, they can get fried. The Kongs can use the lightning to their advantage, however, and let it destroy their enemies if they're clever enough. As the level progresses, the lightning will to strike faster, causing more havoc for the Kongs. To make matters worse, the level is filled with the villainous enemies, Buzzes, yellow Knik-Knaks and Booty Birds. A few red Knik-Knaks and a Nibbla also appear in one of the level's Bonus Areas.
About halfway into the level, the Kongs walk down more of the pathway and defeat another pair of Buzzes blocking their way. Farther on, they find the letter N between two Buzzes, and then make their way into a pool of water to get under some red Buzzes. The monkeys get through more of the level by passing some Knik-Knaks on raised platforms. Moving under some more Buzzes, they eventually use more barrels to cross a small body of water. On the other side of the water, they go under a few Buzzes to progress and find the letter G. Moving on, the group cross another large lake with bobbing barrels, and then leap over a small gap to meet two more Buzzes. They need to hop between these enemies to continue, where they run down a long pathway and meet another pair of Buzzes. Once they get between these foes, they find a flagpole. After raising the flag on it, the level ends.

#After the letter O, the heroes will see a small poll of water. If they jump into it and hover to the bottom of the area, they will land in a Bonus Barrel. It will take them to a Bonus Level, where they will need to hop on several Knik-Knaks to cross a small pond, occupied by a Nibbla. If they beat all the insects safely, they will find a Bonus Coin nearby.
When the Kongs encounter the first two Booty Birds, they must stand beneath the second one, which itself is beneath a red Buzz (or a green one in the Game Boy Advance port). They must wait for the lightning to strike the Booty Bird, causing it to release a Steel Keg. The Kongs must pick up the Steel Keg, carry it, and then throw it above Koin to a nearby wall. The Steel Keg then rolls backward into Koin's back, thus defeating him. If the Kongs accidentally hit Koin's armor, another Steel Keg does not spawn in the previous one's place for the Kongs to reattempt at attacking Koin.
#Around the end of the level, the Kongs will cross a body of water with some bobbing barrels. Above them, they will see a Bonus Barrel in plain sight. Using their Team-up move, one of the Kongs, Kiddy in particular, should throw a monkey into the barrel. It will transport both heroes into a Bonus Level. There, they will have to collect many green bananas around the area, while avoiding constant lightning strikes. After they safely collect all the bananas, they will find a Bonus Coin at the other side of the stage.

Lightning Lookout (parsed Lightning Look-Out in the original game) is the thirty-third level in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and the third level of Kaos Kore.
