Juice[1] appears in Super Mario Sunshine as a substance sprayed from the mouths of Yoshis. It functions like the water sprayed by FLUDD, in addition to getting rid of Orange Juice Generators and turning certain enemies into Yoshi Platforms. Since FLUDD is unusable while riding a Yoshi, its gauge is replaced by one showing the juice remaining. The meter depletes if sprayed and always runs out over time. When the juice runs out, the Yoshi turns green, is only able to spray water, and flickers for a few seconds before returning to its egg. The player can refill the juice gauge by having Yoshi eat fruit, which affect the color of the juice, Yoshi, and the temporary platforms it can make enemies become: Papayas and pineapples turn them orange; bananas and coconuts turn them pink; and durians and peppers turn them purple.
