Spinies are porcupine enemies found in Donkey Kong Country 2. They are invulnerable to rear attacks or a stomp becuase of their nasty quills, but a frontal attack will quickly dispose of them. Occasionally, they are seen with a Klampon in front, "bodyguarding" them, as Klampons are kind of the opposite of Spiny (invulnerable to front attacks, but vulnerable from top).

Spinies are enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. These porcupines have brown fur and pointed black and white quills protecting them from both rear and jumping attacks and damaging the the player characters if attempted. A Spiny can be defeated either by rolling into its exposed front, throwing an object at it, a team up throw (including on its quills), or jumping on it with either Rambi or Rattly. In Castle Crush, a Klampon sometimes accompanies a Spiny, with the opposite trait of Klampons being that they cannot be defeated from roll attacks but are vulnerable to being jumped on.

Spinies also appear in Donkey Kong Land 2. There is no real difference between the Spinies of this game and the ones found in Donkey Kong Country 2.
A similar enemy, known as Bristles, appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III.

It is interesting to note that even though they're immune to jump attacks, Spinies can also be defeated by teaming up and throwing Diddy or Dixie at them.
