The Lily Pad Ride,[1] also called The Lilypad Mini-Game,[2] Toxic Flume,[3] and Pipe Down #3,[4] is a secret level in Super Mario Sunshine. It is accessible only through a Warp Pipe located on the southeast island in Delfino Plaza. The pipe is blocked by an Orange Juice Generator, which can be destroyed only by a Yoshi spraying juice at it, after Mario crosses several boats with him around Delfino Plaza. The Lily Pad Ride involves riding a leaf boat across a poisonous river while collecting eight red coins along the way. The leaf boat that Mario is on slowly rots away over time, eventually disappearing. If Mario reaches the end of the area but fails to get all eight red coins, he can carefully walk on the narrow sides of the river to try to return to the starting point and ride the leaf boat again. There is a pipe at the end of the river that returns Mario to Delfino Plaza. Like other secret levels accessed in Delfino Plaza (as well as The Sand Bird is Born and Red Coins in a Bottle), it is set suspended high in a cloudy sky.
