The Hover Nozzle is one of FLUDD's nozzles in Super Mario Sunshine. It is one of two nozzles that FLUDD is equipped with by default at the start of a level, the other being the Squirt Nozzle. Using the Hover Nozzle launches two streams of water downward, which allows Mario to hover through the air for roughly four seconds while rising slightly. If the Turbo Nozzle or Rocket Nozzle is obtained, it will replace the Hover Nozzle until Mario leaves the level or regains the Hover Nozzle from a blue nozzle box. Certain missions in Noki Bay equip FLUDD with a special Hover Nozzle designed for underwater areas, and this Hover Nozzle propels Mario upward faster and has no limit to how long it can be used.
