Greater location | Sand Kingdom |
Deepest Underground is a location in Super Mario Odyssey. It is located in the Sand Kingdom. As it would, it is within in the deepest underground areas of the kingdom. The Binding Band is held here, and Knucklotec is fought here.
After completing the preceding Underground Temple section, Mario enters the underground, with the stand normally holding the Binding Band directly in front of him, surrounded by torches. Past here, Mario must capture a Bullet Bill and guide it a good distance over the arena below, which he must fall onto to begin the battle with Knucklotec, seen trapped in the ceiling above. During the battle, several small slabs of ice appear over the area, occasionally covering items. This serves as key to defeating Knucklotec, requiring Mario to lure one of his fists into punching a slab of ice, stunning it and allowing it to be captured and controlled.
If Mario returns here after defeating Bowser and completing the main story, he finds the Binding Band has been returned, and several tourists have gathered near it. Mario may Ground Pound the ring to receive a Power Moon.
Later on, both a Warp Pipe and Slingshot appear in the arena. The Warp Pipe connects aboveground while the slingshot launches Mario back up to the stand. When Mario returns to the arena after defeating Knucklotec and walks around, Chinchos emerge out of the ground and follow him. After a while, Mario finds a lone, glowing Chinco he must defeat to reveal a Power Moon.
