A Vaulting Jump is a move that can be performed by the playable characters in Super Mario Run. It is performed when the player taps the screen when they are vaulting over an enemy or a small ledge, allowing the player to jump while defeating the enemy that they are vaulting over, if any. If the enemy is a Koopa Troopa or Buzzy Beetle, this will kick their shell forward. The Vaulting Jump can also press P Switches and ! Switches. The jump is higher than normal, allowing the player to collect out-of-reach collectibles. While going upward, a Vaulting Jump can defeat enemies, except for ones with spikes.
Vaulting jumps produce blue stars, and thus contribute to starting a Coin Rush. They are popular in Toad Rally and thus will attract the attention of a Toad when performed.
