Luigi artwork
If someone gets blocked on another wikipedia, then does it mean that they get blocked on other wikis too?
Okay, that's fine, but why is Mario's front artwork being changed consistently for each new game released? Let me guess, it's for the exact same reasons you told me, right? All right, then. I just wanted the artwork changed, because we've already had it for a while now. 21:17, 23 November 2017 (EST)

Signature Reminder Overturn
Okay, come on, why did you overturn my reminder there? It was just a polite reminder, and nothing else. I had good reason to be concerned, right? 21:16, 4 December 2017 (EST)
:It is undeserved as his edit count shows he edits mainspace more, and his edits to the signature are scattered enough to not be an issue. He does tend to edit his userspace a lot, but it really becomes a problem if it's consistent and/or his focus (i.e. more edits to userspace than mainspace). 21:23, 4 December 2017 (EST)
::Okay, are you sure that is a good enough response? I'm sorry for being nitpicky, but just as a notable fact, I don't like repeated responses. But fine, you can go on and have fun with your life now. 21:25, 4 December 2017 (EST)
:::For this specific reason, the reminder is undeserved. However, if he neglects to fix the name on his signature after a few days as I told him to do so, a reminder can be issued for that as that is in violation. 21:33, 4 December 2017 (EST)
::::Okay. Sorry for being nitpicky, by the way. It can cause a lot of trouble at the wrong times if it's not managed carefully. 21:35, 4 December 2017 (EST)

Mario Party series game order
In case you forgot, here is the order of all the Mario Party games: Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Mario Party 3, Mario Party 4, Mario Party 5, Mario Party 6, Mario Party Advance, Mario Party 7, Mario Party 8, Mario Party DS, Mario Party 9, Mario Party: Island Tour, Mario Party 10, and Mario Party: Star Rush. You don't have to make too much of this, it is just a friendly reminder since you seemed to slip up there a little bit. == Question ==

I was wondering if Super Mario Odyssey official was called music in game, and if so than why do you think Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions music should be listed as media (as it is called "MUSIC" when accessing it). And do you think we should add a media template to List of Super Mario Odyssey music page (no matter what's decided)? Also, I am contacting the user that made the page. 11:58, 11 December 2017 (EST)

Marachi Guy edit
I think the IP address was typing about the Sombrero Guys that appear in Paper Jam. I'm not sure if it's redundant or not, because we have this information on the Sombrero Guy article and I'm pretty sure it doesn't need a repeat on the Marachi Guy page. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 11:18, 12 December 2017 (EST)
:Is the Sombrero Guy the only one of the Marachi Guys that appears? 11:21, 12 December 2017 (EST)
::From watching videos on YouTube of both Colour Splash and Paper Jam, it is the only one. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 11:31, 12 December 2017 (EST)
:::Then just the info on Sombrero Guy should be sufficient enough. 11:32, 12 December 2017 (EST)

Bowser: A Good Leader or not?
Hey, how you doing, and have I got a question for you. Do you think Bowser is a good leader of the Koopa Troop and of his soldiers and his kingdom in general? Also, why was my edit on the List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions music article reversed? Anyway, I hope you're doing well. 21:49, 12 December 2017 (EST)
:I know he definitely cares for his troops, but he may not be the smartest leader in the world. And having tennis matches with your nemesis may help with troop moral :P As for your edit, you appear to already be talking about it with Owencrazyboy9. 21:53, 12 December 2017 (EST)
::Yeah, but I don't exactly understand why he reversed it still. He said that the remake's song names are what are supposed to be put in the boxes, but why can't I put in the original's song names as well? After all, it might as well be called "List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga music"; either way, I want to put in the original names in the boxes too, and I don't get what the problem is with that. 21:58, 12 December 2017 (EST)
:::A List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga media page would probably work better for the original tracks. If the remakes song names are what's in the game, then that's what should be used for the Bowser's Minions page. 22:21, 12 December 2017 (EST)
::::Are you sure about that? That sounds redundant when the two games, which are pretty much the same game, have the exact same soundtrack, putting aside the remixes and stuff. 22:23, 12 December 2017 (EST)
:::::Honestly not sure. But again, if the name in the remake is different than the original, the remake's name is used because that's what the page is based on. With the original tracks a part of the game, once they're uploaded, a track list for the original game can be discussed. 22:30, 12 December 2017 (EST)
::::::The only difference (in terms of in-game names) for the same song in the original and the remake is an added DX with the exception of two songs: "To Challenge!" to "Let's Kick it into High Gear" and "It's My Turn" to "Star 'Stache Smash!". There are more differences between the songs, but you know they are the same song. In terms of what they were once called, hey songs change names even in the same series. I know there are a few songs in Paper Jam that uses the same music from Dream Team. And the song "Let's Go (DX)" in the game is named "Come On!" in Paper Jam. 22:46, 12 December 2017 (EST)
:::::::But still, why are we only focusing on the remake names and not the original names as well? I'm not asking for one or the other, I am asking for both of the names. Why can't we have both of them? Or how about this, why didn't we have a "List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga music" article in the first place for both the original and remake names? That is the question I am asking, why are we all of a sudden focused on the remake without paying any attention to the original? Let me guess, you just answered my question for me. 22:53, 12 December 2017 (EST)
::::::::One, it is in-game names in the remake. Two, using the remake in the name is necessary due to it being only in the remake and having songs of the remake. Three, I guess they could have alternate names so long as they are officially known. If not, then don't add it. However, since the remake songs are lower on the page, don't do it like you did, but, instead, mention the alternative names like (this was originally called "Come On!") for Let's Go. But, don't do it to the remake songs as they don't have previous names. This can't be done if a Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga media page is created. However, I strongly advice against this as it will be against Once and only once policy. 23:09, 12 December 2017 (EST)

Quote Change
Well, thanks, buddy, that was really appreciated. Okay, enough with the sarcasm, isn't Luigi as silent as Mario in the Super Mario series and all other games except the Paper Mario series? I'm not counting Fortune Street for anything, but in all Mario sub-series except Paper Mario, isn't Luigi as silent as Mario? I'll give you the edge for the Paper Mario series, but I still think he deserves to have a "silent" quote. 21:35, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:By "discussed" I meant on Luigi's talk page, but whatever.
:Aside from the Mario & Luigi series (where he and Mario talk in gibberish) and the Fortune Street series (where he and Mario talk in full sentences), Luigi is more talkative than Mario in just about every game they both appear in and where they talk. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 has Luigi talking to Mario (and himself), he's very talkative in Luigi's Mansion (as can be seen with the Game Boy Horror, though barely anything in Dark Moon). No one talks much in sports games, but overall, Luigi is much more talkative than Mario is. 21:39, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::Uh...I'm not so convinced, because I meant for the most part, but I guess I will meet you on the Luigi talk page. I've got a nice, sweet proposal coming up, or maybe not, but yeah, I still think he's as silent as Mario, if only a little bit more talkative. It's not that much of a difference, just a little. 21:43, 14 December 2017 (EST)

RE: Thanks
HDMI is better than analog interfaces (such as RCA connector) because it is digital, so no artifacts. Keep in mind that Retron consoles are reverse engineered counterparts of the official console it is based on, so mistakes could occur at runtime that would otherwise not happen on official hardware. This will likely not happen with popular titles because they are so commonly tested but more obscure titles could showcase a bug with the console. I still hope one day you are able to solve your emulator problems. If only I can see what you see, so then I can start tinkering to fix your issues. -- 10:46, 21 December 2017 (EST)
:3DS, there is Citra (emulator), but it is not worth looking into. Many graphical glitches and some games refuse to boot. Same goes for the Cemu as well. It also has a steep PC requirements. However, how I submitted my screenshots for 3DS, homebrew, not emulators. Anything analog, there is some degradation. It's one reason why digital signal alternatives were developed. -- 17:16, 21 December 2017 (EST)

Hey, Alex95, I noticed you still undid my edit on the Gallery: Princess Daisy page - why is that? == Star colors ==
Are you sure? It can't be. I learned science, and I know my science teacher would say that blue and green are the warm colors. Art class is not a reliable source for determining the colors of stars and how hot they must be. I might search it up on Google, though. 21:38, 6 January 2018 (EST)
:Also, science isn't really the place to go for art advice. In terms of fire, blue would be hot (because fire), but otherwise, it's a cool color. 21:41, 6 January 2018 (EST)
::This isn't art we're talking about, this is science. Stars aren't art, they're science, and science says, blue is warm and red is cool. 21:56, 6 January 2018 (EST)
:::I am so unfocused right now. I misunderstood the point. My bad.
:::While there are varying degrees of fire, there isn't one you could really classify as "cool". This is fire after all. Blue is definitely hotter than red, though. 22:02, 6 January 2018 (EST)

Hey Alex, do you have the original version? Because I tried it on the All Star Versions (Wii, but should be the same) and that's not the case. It is the case before you changed it. So, unless you can prove that it is that way in the original, we should have the one before you change it. If it is that way, both should be mentioned. 12:14, 10 January 2018 (EST)

I know "the" is part of the title, but a phrase like "the first The Legend of Zelda game" doesn't sound right imo. That's why I thought it should just be omitted. 22:57, 12 January 2018 (EST)
:idk, even if it's grammatically correct, some instances of English will always sound weird to me. "The first Legend of Zelda" and "The first The Legend of Zelda" both sound correct to me, as "Legend of Zelda" is a shorter form whereas "The" is actually in the title. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference, but then the edits could cycle back and forth if it is. 23:51, 12 January 2018 (EST)

Hey just out of curiosity, I remember there being a special page that like ranked everyone's contribution scores per week and month (and I think all time, too). Do you know why it was deleted, I used to enjoy looking at that page. It's fine if you do not know I was just wondering.
:I don't recall such a page existing, and I'm not finding it in SpecialPages. It sounds similar to something Gamepedia and Wikia does, but it doesn't seem useful, so it was probably deleted for that reason. I see you contacted Gamefreak75 about this already, they would know more about this than I do. == RE:M+RKB Buttons ==

As for the manual descriptions, I'm fine if they're added on, as long as they as are added along with the descriptions the wiki provides, since sometimes (not saying these descriptions have too many errors, but) official descriptions can have mistakes as to what they describe. As for the images, no, that actually violates consistency, and it's just easier to use button since the template's more versatile and can handle some situations that the button images can't. 17:14, 23 January 2018 (EST)
:I never said I thought they would be used on every page. Like I said, it's easier to use the button template, not just for versatility, but also for consistency with other articles. Plus, there's no policy that explicitly states that manual or in-game entries can be used by themselves when used to define things like controls; they usually need informative text to go along with it. 17:38, 23 January 2018 (EST)

Hudson Mario Sourcing
Just wanted to ask about sourcing direct developer information. As you can see here: https://www.marioboards.com/index.php?topic=39544.0. I've been able to get information about version releases from Imatani San, a guy who worked on ads for Hudson during the development of their Mario games. So far, he has told of the existence and planning of other versions of the games, their release months (though a bit questionable, as I explain), and more information is still to come. My question is, how do I source this information, once it's confirmed completely by Imatani? Mariomaster86 (talk) 12:19, 25 January 2018 (EST)

:That's how the texture actually is? Well, then that means that the texture is stretched vertically in the game. Like, compare the texture to the tree in this screenshot. Weird. And by "flat" I meant like "squished". 16:09, 26 January 2018 (EST)

:::That 1-Up Mushroom XD
:::Wow, I didn't realize what sort of tricks the devs use for textures. Making the coins grey and just applying a colored texture over them is neat, but stretching a tree and shrinking a mushroom seem like unnecessary steps, imo. 16:18, 26 January 2018 (EST)
::::They give them more detail for a smaller space. Due to the facts that each point on these graphics no longer occupies just a single point on the screen, as they can be squashed, stretched, and rotated at will, technically all the "tall"-looking ones are stretched in the final. It gives them detail without taking up as much space as having them be twice that size, which would use more memory. Also, this was one of the first times, so, it makes sense...while you're at it, check out how they did the Thwomps in Mario Kart 64 here. And yes, note the complete lack of a green variant, although it was verified it was just the lamp discoloring it when an old emulator I was using to play without a TV glitched and gave the Thwomps weird textures on the sides, and they were all tinted yellow for that specific Thwomp... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:24, 26 January 2018 (EST)

This sentence has been like this on Aces High since near the page's creation: "The only way the player can get rid of the following Bullet Bill is to do an off-course and get rid of it." Do you think you can make the sentence sound better? I asked Mario jc this a few days ago, but he didn't reply. Do you have an answer to my question? Dwhitney (talk) 17:04, July 5, 2021 (EDT)
:I think by "off-course", it means the player has to flying into the course's barrier, which will make them do an immediate U-Turn. The action would result in the Bullet Bill flying past them. I haven't played MP3 in a long time, but that's how I'm understanding it. 00:37, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
::Mario jc did reply to my question, saying, "Maybe it can be changed to 'The only way the player can evade a Bullet Bill pursuing them is to veer away from its trajectory.' but this is based on footage I watched since I don't own the game." Now I'm wondering whether the sentence is referring to how a player can get rid of a Bullet Bill he or she launched or how a player can avoid it, the former sounding more likely. Dwhitney (talk) 01:11, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
::Maybe I misinterpreted "following Bullet Bill" as meaning the first Bullet Bill that a player launches. Dwhitney (talk) 01:41, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
:::I think "following Bullet Bill" is referring the the Bullet Bill that is going after a player. I think this might work: "If being chased by a Bullet Bill, the player needs to head toward the arena's barrier, which will cause them to automatically turn around and make the Bullet Bill miss." Someone with MP3 should verify, however. If only there was some kind of retro digital service Nintendo could've put this game on... 13:36, July 6, 2021 (EDT)

:Ye, I'm aware. Where it went ended up getting deleted, so I'm working on fixing that. 14:34, January 5, 2022 (EST)

Well, the original SMB and the Lost Levels, Super Mario Land, and NSMBDS didn't feature flight powerups and they aren't neccessary as not all 2D Mario platformers have to have them. The Fire Flower has been the common staple since SMB1. Flight powerups were introduced in SMB3 and SMB2 was released before SMB3. Shooting projectiles is the common staple, not flight power-ups.--199.7.157.121 18:54, 11 March 2018 (EDT)
Spotlight
The Fire Flower is used as an example as it is the most prominent projectile power-up as it was intoduced in SMB1. It's not meant to be vague.--199.7.157.121 19:21, 11 March 2018 (EDT)

::Due to this, will the paragraph of the Spotlight section be changed? 07:56, January 20, 2022 (EST)

There are exclusions added such as being strictly focused on the 2D Super Mario games and not the 3D ones which are different. Every 2D Mario platformer has an invincibility powerup. The biggest problem though is that SMB2 was released before SMB3 and SMB3 is next title so it wouldn't feel right to include flight power-ups on an article that talks about a game prior to SMB3.--199.7.157.121 20:32, 11 March 2018 (EDT)
Ban
To explain in short before other users question the reason, Alex95 is banned due to a sitewide consensus on our Discord channel: he had been asking large sums of money from multiple community members, and while he likely not directly involved with the alleged fraud that may have happened, he was still heavily complicit in his situation and we are banning him for the general safety of the community. He has also admitted that he shared his account with a third party who may have involved with the alleged fraud. Due to that, his ranks have additionally been stripped. He is additionally banned on the forum and on our Discord. 01:20, April 3, 2022 (EDT)

RULES
 1. Standard Mario Wiki rules apply, of course. No spamming, trolling, vandalizing, removing comments, etc. Please follow the rules, your comment will get removed otherwise. You don't have to sign your comments here, but it'll make it easier for me to get back to you if you do.
 2. No swearing or obscenity. These words will get edited out ASAP.
 3. Please don't ask why I reverted or corrected your edit. Usually, I have a good reason and can back it up. Take a look at my contributions or the page history for more information regarding your edit, if available. If you must, you can ask for clarification, but only if you provide more than "Why did you delete my edit?!" (which will get removed).
 4. Questions about my Power Master games and/or YouTube videos are fine. There are other places for those kinds of talk, of course, but I don't mind them on here.
 5. Any questions relating to a different wiki, please post on my talk page there. If you're here to complain about a block I gave you on other wikis, your comment will be removed, though I may clarify a block on Discord if needed. Though if you need my immediate attention elsewhere, you can notify me here (or Discord), as I'm more active here than anywhere else.
 6. I'm a friendly guy and am willing to engage in friendly conversation, so long as the sections don't become too excessive. If a topic header already exists for your question, please post under that.
 7. I will archive once this talk page reaches 200 messages. Please do not make any message telling me to archive. It's a waste of a notification, and it will be removed.
 8. Unless it's an important response you should know about or if I started the conversation on your page, I will respond here.
 9. I welcome friendship, but only if I know you well enough.
 10. I'm all for helping with games, so long as I own it or the guide! Otherwise, I probably won't be able to help much.

If someone gets blocked on another wikipedia, then does it mean that they get blocked on other wikis too?[edit]

If someone gets blocked on another wiki, than does it mean that they get blocked on other wikis too? This does not include fandoms (ones like mario.fandom.com. spongebob.fandom.com the 2 gone tantrum.fandom.com and other ones too. 107.146.244.150 15:20, June 1, 2021 (EDT)

Not usually. If you get blocked here, you won't get blocked on SmashWiki, for example. Unless you did something very wrong.
"tantrum.fandom", sheesh. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:30, June 1, 2021 (EDT)

I had also submitted a Do you like SpongeBob poll yesterday? and I hope it gets selected as the next poll. 107.146.244.150 18:43, June 2, 2021 (EDT)

Has nothing to with Mario or the wiki, so I doubt it. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:21, June 2, 2021 (EDT)

I also remember submitting a poll to the wiki about do you think Nintendo will celebrate The Legend of Zelda's 35th Anniversary but it got declined. I was not happy. 107.146.244.150 15:40, June 6, 2021 (EDT)

Bowser Castle music (Mario Kart DS)[edit]

Hi, I've come back to tell you something regarding the Bowser Castle music from Mario Kart DS is that it used a sample from the Michael Jackson song Black or White. I found that on the spreadsheet which i have told you about many times. MarioKartFan4863927 14:47, June 6, 2021 (EST)

Honestly complete forgot about that spreadsheet, but what's your examples? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:35, June 6, 2021 (EDT)

Mainly the Mario Kart ones. So are you gonna edit the DS Bowser Castle race course page to add the information that i've just told you and by the way, here's the spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JJBlHHDc65fhZmKUGLrDTLCm6rfUU83-kbuD8Y0zU0o/edit?pli=1#gid=717751203). MarioKartFan4863927 19:02, June 7, 2021 (EST)

Will look more into it later. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:05, June 7, 2021 (EDT)

Ok. MarioKartFan4863927 16:15, June 8, 2021 (EST)

I listened to both MKDS's Bowser Castle and Michael Jackson's Black or White, and they don't sound at all the same to me. Bowser Castle is actually a slowed down remix of the Airship Fortress theme at times. If there are specific points in the soundtracks you are referring to, point me to them, but I'm pretty sure any connections are coincidental. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:47, June 8, 2021 (EDT)

If you look on the spreadsheet, The song "Black or White" is listed under Mario Kart DS as a sample not a remix. MarioKartFan4863927 16:28, June 9, 2021 (EST)

I looked at timestamp 0:57. Not hearing it. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:35, June 9, 2021 (EDT)

Help wanted: rewriting articles[edit]

I found some errors on MarioWiki:Glossary. What's in bold is how I believe the text should be corrected.

 • "A device that allows players to cheat in a game by accessing the game's code."
 • "Also used as an umbrella term for all the promoted ranks (sysops, patrollers, and bureaucrats)."
 • "Their contributions are attributed to their IP addresses themselves, rather than unique usernames."
 • "On forums, avatars are simply the picture or icon that users display on their profiles."
 • "A restriction imposed upon a sockpuppet or severely misbehaving user by an administrator that prevents them from editing the database."
 • "Users that are run by automated scripts and/or programs to carry out mundane and repetitive tasks."
 • "E.g., 'There's a bug in the editor: it writes things out backward.'"
 • "Most often applied to processor-memory access but also used for a local copy of data accessible over a network, etc."
 • "A brief appearance of a character, species, or item in a medium (a game, movie, comic, etc.) other than the one it originated in."
 • "An extension to HTML to allow styles (e.g., color, font, and size) to be specified for certain elements of a hypertext document."
 • "A programming error in a video game that results in unintended behavior, ranging from characters falling through solid objects or otherwise defying proper gameplay, to game freezes and the corruption or loss of saved data."
 • "In some platformer games, there is a certain number of lives that the player has."
 • "When the information from two or more articles is combined into a single page."
 • "An edit that doesn't really change the content of a page, but rather, fixes small details or mistakes, and other such maintenance work." (Remove commas.)
 • "This can happen when subjects are renamed over the course of the Mario series itself, or when a more appropriate and/or useful name is discovered, revealed, or suggested."
 • "In this wiki, the abbreviation denotes generally the North and South American versions of games for the NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, or Wii, but can also include South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. These versions come into play mainly for region locking, although minor gameplay and localization differences may exist between NTSC and its European/Australian counterpart, PAL, versions."
 • "In this wiki, the abbreviation denotes generally the European and Australian version of games for the NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, or Wii."
 • "Used before a username/a group of users (i.e., "Per X", or "Per all") to indicate that the person agrees with that/those user(s). Used in voting for Featured Articles, Proposals, etc. Etymologically, "per" is Latin for "through", so literally, the voter is expressing their opinion through the other user(s)." (Remove comma after "Per X"; un-italicize "per" after "Etymologically.")
 • "A wiki link where the displayed text is different from the article it leads to. Example: Mario shows up as Mario, but actually links to the Mario (franchise) page." (Remove comma.)
 • "This also includes altering the text (such as making the switch from active to passive, e.g., 'Mario stomped on the Goomba' to 'The Goomba was stomped by Mario.')."
 • "For example, in Luigi's Mansion 3, after the player goes through the door in the back of the Main Observation Room, the rest of The Last Resort becomes inaccessible and the player's only option is to climb to the Rooftop and face King Boo." (This fixes a dangling modifier.)
 • "In Super Smash Bros. games, the term refers to either reducing one's damage percentage or returning to the stage after being attacked or falling."
 • "Short for Role Playing Game." (Add quotation marks around "Role Playing Game.")
 • "A work of fiction (book, game, etc.) that continues the story or otherwise builds upon a previously released work."
 • "A user's name or a design that includes the name, which a user puts below or after their comments on talk pages to show that they were the one who wrote said comment."
 • "Spin-off or spinoff" (This is just another spelling, not a correction.)
 • "A game that has other gameplay types rather than the usual gameplay type it has (e.g., Mario Tennis, Mario Kart)."
 • "A file type that, unlike raster formats (PNG, JPEG, GIF), is comprised of vectors (shapes), rather than pixels."
 • "Short for Table of Contents." (Add quotation marks around "Table of Contents.")
 • "A box that users are free to create and use to describe their likes, dislikes, favorites, and other pieces of information about themselves." Dwhitney (talk) 16:29, June 10, 2021 (EDT)
Changed what I thought needed changing. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:35, June 10, 2021 (EDT),
In this phrase, is "actually" meant to be italicized? "A system of classification that separates official media products from unofficial media products and official but disowned works, therefore determining which characters, locations, events, etc. 'actually' exist in a series' fictional universe." Dwhitney (talk) 18:16, June 10, 2021 (EDT)
No, I don't think so. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 18:22, June 10, 2021 (EDT)

Here are more errors I found on MarioWiki:Good writing. What's in bold is how I believe the text should be corrected.

 • "However, there are a few issues that frequently come up with the writing."
 • In the "Bad writing" section, after "Summaries that aren't," "Pseudo-walkthroughs," "Padding," "Mario mania," "Everything but the kitchen sink," "Captain Obvious," "Flowery writing," "Epic writing," "Gridmark," "Reading between the lines," "Unsupported analysis," "Judgement calls," "Knitting everything together," "Fan worship," and "Fusing gameplay and story elements," change the hyphen to an en dash.
 • ""Peach is kidnapped by Bowser and Mario sets off to rescue her." is plot. "Mario traversed the grassy plains of World 1 and used Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, and rare Invincibility Stars to defeat new foes and challenge the False Bowser waiting for him at the castle." is not plot. It's cruft." Dwhitney (talk) 16:30, June 20, 2021 (EDT)

Here are more errors I found on MarioWiki:Glossary. What's in bold is how I believe the text should be corrected.

 • "the smallest unit of storage - sufficient to hold one bit." (Change the hyphen to an en dash.)
 • Since "bot" uses a plural definition, I think the word should be "bots."
 • "Cover version (often shortened to cover)" (Put the second "cover" in quotation marks.)
 • "Not to be confused with remix." (Put "remix" in quotation marks.)
 • "It is equivalent to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), from which all other time zones are offset."
 • "Not to be confused with cover version." (Put "cover version" in quotation marks.)
 • "Short for Stupid Pointless and Annoying Message." (Unitalicize "Stupid Pointless and Annoying Message" and put it in quotation marks, simply because other shortened forms on MarioWiki:Glossary are in quotation marks.) Dwhitney (talk) 23:19, July 23, 2021 (EDT)
When do you think you'll fix these errors? Dwhitney (talk) 18:57, July 28, 2021 (EDT)
I've been very busy, will do so when I can. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:43, July 29, 2021 (EDT)

Sentence structure[edit]

This sentence has been like this on Aces High since near the page's creation: "The only way the player can get rid of the following Bullet Bill is to do an off-course and get rid of it." Do you think you can make the sentence sound better? I asked Mario jc this a few days ago, but he didn't reply. Do you have an answer to my question? Dwhitney (talk) 17:04, July 5, 2021 (EDT)

I think by "off-course", it means the player has to flying into the course's barrier, which will make them do an immediate U-Turn. The action would result in the Bullet Bill flying past them. I haven't played MP3 in a long time, but that's how I'm understanding it. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 00:37, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
Mario jc did reply to my question, saying, "Maybe it can be changed to 'The only way the player can evade a Bullet Bill pursuing them is to veer away from its trajectory.' but this is based on footage I watched since I don't own the game." Now I'm wondering whether the sentence is referring to how a player can get rid of a Bullet Bill he or she launched or how a player can avoid it, the former sounding more likely. Dwhitney (talk) 01:11, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
Maybe I misinterpreted "following Bullet Bill" as meaning the first Bullet Bill that a player launches. Dwhitney (talk) 01:41, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
I think "following Bullet Bill" is referring the the Bullet Bill that is going after a player. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:36, July 6, 2021 (EDT)

What needs to be done.[edit]

I'm new here and I'm looking for something to do to help the wiki. GamerLover08 (talk) 09:41, July 22, 2021 (EDT)

Welcome! You can check out MarioWiki:Maintenance or current Spotlight to see what needs to be done! Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 09:58, July 22, 2021 (EDT)

Underwater[edit]

Hello! I'm planning to creating an article related to the underwater sections in Mario Kart courses. But I'm not sure that this article is required, as I'm afraid it might just get deleted. Can you give me some advice? Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 06:05, August 31, 2021

I don't think we accept stuff like that. We don't cover specific track segments as separate articles. But we have anti-gravity, so maybe it's worth making a talk page question about it on the main talk page or something? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 21:48, August 31, 2021 (EDT)
If I can suggest something, water/swimming is a common mechanic throughout the Mario franchise that I think might be worth making an article for it, like lava and poison. Maybe a "Water" article can be created covering its appearances and effects in games, including the Mario Kart underwater sections. Thanks for your opinions. I'll try something like that out. Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 22:17, August 31, 2021 (EDT)
Water is already something in Paper Mario, but yeah, a coverage like that would work. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 22:46, August 31, 2021 (EDT)

Theme from a Summer's Place reference in the music for Deep Bloober Sea[edit]

Hi again, I've come back to tell you that the music for Deep Bloober Sea in Mario Party 3 has a reference to Theme from a Summer's Place like Shy Guy Beach and Cheep-Cheep Island from Mario Kart Super Circuit which i've heard through comments on YouTube. Why would you ban me from your own discord?[edit]

Cap Block[edit]

I did a proposal for Cap Block, but the result is "no consensus." In this situation, am I still free to create a Cap Block article? Dwhitney (talk) 12:58, December 16, 2021 (EST)

No. It'd be as if the proposal failed, i.e. nothing is going to happen. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:05, December 16, 2021 (EST)

Punctuation in reference tags[edit]

Remember our talk about this? I want to let you know that according to MarioWiki:Citations, "it's preferred to insert the tag after any punctuation such as a comma or period." Dwhitney (talk) 15:19, December 26, 2021 (EST)

Ye, I'm aware. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:43, December 26, 2021 (EST)

404 page[edit]

On your userpage, the "site that goes into more detail about [you], the games [you] have, etc." links to a 404 page "not found." Dwhitney (talk) 14:33, January 5, 2022 (EST)

Ye, I'm aware. Where it went ended up getting deleted, so I'm working on fixing that. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:34, January 5, 2022 (EST)

Spotlight[edit]

I would like to ask, weren't all of the spotlight goals except for Super Rush completed last month? Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 20:19, January 15, 2022 (EST)

It would look like they are. I guess they were finished after Yoshi876 posted an updated. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 21:48, January 18, 2022 (EST)
Due to this, will the paragraph of the Spotlight section be changed? Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 07:56, January 20, 2022 (EST)

Ban[edit]

To explain in short before other users question the reason, Alex95 is banned due to a sitewide consensus on our Discord channel: he had been asking large sums of money from multiple community members, and while he likely not directly involved with the alleged fraud that may have happened, he was still heavily complicit in his situation and we are banning him for the general safety of the community. He has also admitted that he shared his account with a third party who may have involved with the alleged fraud. Due to that, his ranks have additionally been stripped. He is additionally banned on the forum and on our Discord. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 01:20, April 3, 2022 (EDT)

Would every NIWA wiki ban him as well?

I think so. It’s the only logical choice. Red Oho Jee from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. OhoJeeOnFire (talk)
