This sentence has been like this on [[Aces High]] since near the page's creation: "The only way the player can get rid of the following Bullet Bill is to do an off-course and get rid of it." :I think by "off-course", it means the player has to flying into the course's barrier, which will make them do an immediate U-Turn. The action would result in the Bullet Bill flying past them. ::Mario jc did reply to my question, saying, "Maybe it can be changed to 'The only way the player can evade a Bullet Bill pursuing them is to veer away from its trajectory.' but this is based on footage I watched since I don't own the game." Now I'm wondering whether the sentence is referring to how a player can get rid of a Bullet Bill he or she launched or how a player can avoid it, the former sounding more likely. :::I think "following Bullet Bill" is referring the the Bullet Bill that is going after a player. I think this might work: "If being chased by a Bullet Bill, the player needs to head toward the arena's barrier, which will cause them to automatically turn around and make the Bullet Bill miss." Someone with ''MP3'' should verify, however. If only there was some kind of retro digital service Nintendo could've put this game on... {{User:Alex95/sig}} 13:36, July 6, 2021 (EDT)

To explain in short before other users question the reason, Alex95 is banned due to a sitewide consensus on our Discord channel: he had been asking large sums of money from multiple community members, and while he likely not directly involved with the alleged fraud that may have happened, he was still heavily complicit in his situation and we are banning him for the general safety of the community. He has also admitted that he shared his account with a third party who may have involved with the alleged fraud. Due to that, his ranks have additionally been stripped. He is [https://www.marioboards.com/members/5162/ additionally banned] on the forum and on our Discord. {{User:Ray Trace/sig}} 01:20, April 3, 2022 (EDT)

Help wanted: rewriting articles[edit]
I found some errors on MarioWiki:Glossary. What's in bold is how I believe the text should be corrected.
- "A device that allows players to cheat in a game by accessing the game's code."
- "Also used as an umbrella term for all the promoted ranks (sysops, patrollers, and bureaucrats)."
- "Their contributions are attributed to their IP addresses themselves, rather than unique usernames."
- "On forums, avatars are simply the picture or icon that users display on their profiles."
- "A restriction imposed upon a sockpuppet or severely misbehaving user by an administrator that prevents them from editing the database."
- "Users that are run by automated scripts and/or programs to carry out mundane and repetitive tasks."
- "E.g., 'There's a bug in the editor: it writes things out backward.'"
- "Most often applied to processor-memory access but also used for a local copy of data accessible over a network, etc."
- "A brief appearance of a character, species, or item in a medium (a game, movie, comic, etc.) other than the one it originated in."
- "An extension to HTML to allow styles (e.g., color, font, and size) to be specified for certain elements of a hypertext document."
- "A programming error in a video game that results in unintended behavior, ranging from characters falling through solid objects or otherwise defying proper gameplay, to game freezes and the corruption or loss of saved data."

- "In this wiki, the abbreviation denotes generally the North and South American versions of games for the NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, or Wii, but can also include South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. These versions come into play mainly for region locking, although minor gameplay and localization differences may exist between NTSC and its European/Australian counterpart, PAL, versions."

- "Used before a username/a group of users (i.e., "Per X", or "Per all") to indicate that the person agrees with that/those user(s). Used in voting for Featured Articles, Proposals, etc. Etymologically, "per" is Latin for "through", so literally, the voter is expressing their opinion through the other user(s)." (Remove comma after "Per X"; un-italicize "per" after "Etymologically.")
- "A wiki link where the displayed text is different from the article it leads to. Example: Mario shows up as Mario, but actually links to the Mario (franchise) page." (Remove comma.)

- In this phrase, is "actually" meant to be italicized? "A system of classification that separates official media products from unofficial media products and official but disowned works, therefore determining which characters, locations, events, etc. 'actually' exist in a series' fictional universe." Here are more errors I found on MarioWiki:Good writing. What's in bold is how I believe the text should be corrected.
- "However, there are a few issues that frequently come up with the writing."
- In the "Bad writing" section, after "Summaries that aren't," "Pseudo-walkthroughs," "Padding," "Mario mania," "Everything but the kitchen sink," "Captain Obvious," "Flowery writing," "Epic writing," "Gridmark," "Reading between the lines," "Unsupported analysis," "Judgement calls," "Knitting everything together," "Fan worship," and "Fusing gameplay and story elements," change the hyphen to an en dash.
- ""Peach is kidnapped by Bowser and Mario sets off to rescue her." is plot. "Mario traversed the grassy plains of World 1 and used Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, and rare Invincibility Stars to defeat new foes and challenge the False Bowser waiting for him at the castle." is not plot. It's cruft." Dwhitney (talk) 16:30, June 20, 2021 (EDT)
Here are more errors I found on MarioWiki:Glossary. What's in bold is how I believe the text should be corrected.
- "the smallest unit of storage - sufficient to hold one bit." (Change the hyphen to an en dash.)
- Since "bot" uses a plural definition, I think the word should be "bots."
- "Cover version (often shortened to cover)" (Put the second "cover" in quotation marks.)
- "Not to be confused with remix." (Put "remix" in quotation marks.)
- "It is equivalent to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), from which all other time zones are offset."
- "Not to be confused with cover version." (Put "cover version" in quotation marks.)
- "Short for Stupid Pointless and Annoying Message." (Unitalicize "Stupid Pointless and Annoying Message" and put it in quotation marks, simply because other shortened forms on MarioWiki:Glossary are in quotation marks.) Dwhitney (talk) 23:19, July 23, 2021 (EDT)
Sentence structure[edit]
This sentence has been like this on Aces High since near the page's creation: "The only way the player can get rid of the following Bullet Bill is to do an off-course and get rid of it." Do you think you can make the sentence sound better? I asked Mario jc this a few days ago, but he didn't reply. Do you have an answer to my question? Dwhitney (talk) 17:04, July 5, 2021 (EDT)
- I think by "off-course", it means the player has to flying into the course's barrier, which will make them do an immediate U-Turn. The action would result in the Bullet Bill flying past them. I haven't played MP3 in a long time, but that's how I'm understanding it. 00:37, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
- Mario jc did reply to my question, saying, "Maybe it can be changed to 'The only way the player can evade a Bullet Bill pursuing them is to veer away from its trajectory.' but this is based on footage I watched since I don't own the game." Now I'm wondering whether the sentence is referring to how a player can get rid of a Bullet Bill he or she launched or how a player can avoid it, the former sounding more likely. Dwhitney (talk) 01:11, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
- Maybe I misinterpreted "following Bullet Bill" as meaning the first Bullet Bill that a player launches. Dwhitney (talk) 01:41, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
- I think "following Bullet Bill" is referring the the Bullet Bill that is going after a player. I think this might work: "If being chased by a Bullet Bill, the player needs to head toward the arena's barrier, which will cause them to automatically turn around and make the Bullet Bill miss." Someone with MP3 should verify, however. If only there was some kind of retro digital service Nintendo could've put this game on... 13:36, July 6, 2021 (EDT)
What needs to be done.[edit]
I'm new here and I'm looking for something to do to help the wiki. GamerLover08 (talk) 09:41, July 22, 2021 (EDT)
- Welcome! You can check out MarioWiki:Maintenance or current Spotlight to see what needs to be done! 09:58, July 22, 2021 (EDT)

Underwater[edit]
Hello! I'm planning to creating an article related to the underwater sections in Mario Kart courses. But I'm not sure that this article is required, as I'm afraid it might just get deleted. Can you give me some advice? WildWario (talk) 06:05, August 31, 2021
- I don't think we accept stuff like that. We don't cover specific track segments as separate articles. But we have anti-gravity, so maybe it's worth making a talk page question about it on the main talk page or something? 21:48, August 31, 2021 (EDT)
- If I can suggest something, water/swimming is a common mechanic throughout the Mario franchise that I think might be worth making an article for it, like lava and poison. Maybe a "Water" article can be created covering its appearances and effects in games, including the Mario Kart underwater sections. Mario JC 22:08, August 31, 2021 (EDT)
Theme from a Summer's Place reference in the music for Deep Bloober Sea[edit]
Hi again, I've come back to tell you that the music for Deep Bloober Sea in Mario Party 3 has a reference to Theme from a Summer's Place like Shy Guy Beach and Cheep-Cheep Island from Mario Kart Super Circuit which i've heard through comments on YouTube. Why would you ban me from your own discord?[edit]

Cap Block[edit]
I did a proposal for Cap Block, but the result is "no consensus." In this situation, am I still free to create a Cap Block article? Dwhitney (talk) 12:58, December 16, 2021 (EST)
- No. It'd be as if the proposal failed, i.e. nothing is going to happen. 13:05, December 16, 2021 (EST)
Punctuation in reference tags[edit]
Remember our talk about this? I want to let you know that according to MarioWiki:Citations, "it's preferred to insert the <ref></ref> tag after any punctuation such as a comma or period." Dwhitney (talk) 15:19, December 26, 2021 (EST)
404 page[edit]
On your userpage, the "site that goes into more detail about [you], the games [you] have, etc." links to a 404 page "not found." Dwhitney (talk) 14:33, January 5, 2022 (EST)
- Ye, I'm aware. Where it went ended up getting deleted, so I'm working on fixing that. 14:34, January 5, 2022 (EST)
Spotlight[edit]
I would like to ask, weren't all of the spotlight goals except for Super Rush completed last month? WildWario (talk) 20:19, January 15, 2022 (EST)
- It would look like they are. I guess they were finished after Yoshi876 posted an updated. 21:48, January 18, 2022 (EST)
Ban[edit]
To explain in short before other users question the reason, Alex95 is banned due to a sitewide consensus on our Discord channel: he had been asking large sums of money from multiple community members, and while he likely not directly involved with the alleged fraud that may have happened, he was still heavily complicit in his situation and we are banning him for the general safety of the community. He has also admitted that he shared his account with a third party who may have involved with the alleged fraud. Due to that, his ranks have additionally been stripped. He is additionally banned on the forum and on our Discord. Ray Trace(T|C) 01:20, April 3, 2022 (EDT)
Would every NIWA wiki ban him as well?
I think so. It’s the only logical choice. OhoJeeOnFire (talk)
