In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Dr. Mario's Super Jump Punch is also stronger than Mario's version, dealing much higher knockback.

Luigi's performance of this move is similar to Mario's, but with some differences: Luigi's version gives him high vertical distance but no horizontal distance whatsoever; and it deals extremely low damage (1-3%) in most scenarios. However, if it is performed right next to an enemy, Luigi instead performs the Fire Jump Punch and deals around 25% damage with high knockback to the enemy.

The Super Jump Punch is a jumping move Mario, Luigi and Dr. Mario can perform in the Smash Bros. series. It was executed by pressing B while holding the control stick upwards. When Luigi was performing it, he was jumping forward like Mario in the original SSB, but he jumped straight up in Melee. He could recover using the Green Missile attack. When either of the Marios perform the attack, coins would fly out of the enemy, and the foe would receive about 10% damage. Dr. Mario's version of the attack is the exact same as Mario's, only more powerful. According to screenshots, Mario will use Super Jump Punch yet again in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the Super Jump Punch can be customized, where Mario and Dr. Mario share their custom variants, while Luigi has his own unique custom variants. One of Mario's and Dr. Mario's custom variants is Super Jump, which increases the vertical distance but does not deal any damage, while the other one is Explosive Punch, known as Ol' One-Two (named The Ol' One-Two in British English) for Dr. Mario, which produces fire and explosive damage. Luigi's custom variants are Fiery Jump Punch and Burial Header. The Fiery Jump Punch makes it easier to perform the Fire Jump Punch move, while the Burial Header damages grounded opponents while falling.

When Luigi performs it, only one coin flies out of the enemy. But, if done correctly, the enemy would get fiery and receive up to 25% of damage. Luigi must be positioned just right for this Super Jump Punch to work, otherwise, it results in 1% damage.

Mario's Super Jump Punch in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Jump Punch is Mario's, Luigi's, and Dr. Mario's up special move in the Super Smash Bros. games. When performed by Mario or Dr. Mario, they jump up diagonally with more vertical range than horizontal. If the attack strikes an enemy during the jump, coins fly out of the enemy, and the foe receives multiple hits. In the first three Super Smash Bros. games, the coins are designed after the ones from Super Mario 64, while in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U onward, they are designed after the Star Coins from the New Super Mario Bros. games. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, when Mario performs the move, Mario's cap occasionally turns into Cappy, and Metro Kingdom regional coins from Super Mario Odyssey sometimes appear instead of regular coins, although both changes are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Dr. Mario's Super Jump Punch only strikes with a single hit, and gives him less distance than Mario's version.
