Dreambert is a character who appears in the game Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. He is the leader of the Pi'illo people and thus was among those who were petrified by Antasma; fortunately, he was also the first to be freed of his rocky prison, as Mario and Dreamy Luigi (at that moment trying to rescue the recently abducted Princess Peach from Antasma) freed him from the nightmarish chunk which contained him in the dreamworld by jumping at it. Dreambert explains to Mario, Luigi, and Starlow that there are two powers in the Dream World: the Dreamstone and the Darkstone, which was destroyed by Antasma and used to so thoroughly petrify the Pi'illos that they were presumed extinct. Prince Dreambert, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Prince Dreambert, often referred to or addressed as simply Dreambert, is the tritagonist in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. He is a Pi'illo viewed as the prince of all Pi'illos. Prior to the start of the game, he, along with all the other Pi'illos, is encased in a Nightmare Chunk by Antasma and the Dark Stone. While attempting to save Princess Peach from Dreamy Pi'illo Castle, he is rescued by Mario and Dreamy Luigi, and is brought out of the Dream World, where he explains the predicament. For the remainder of the game, he serves as a guide for Mario and Luigi, in a similar manner to that of Starlow, providing explanations and additional information whenever needed. Unlike Starlow, he is able to enter the Dream World to provide information there as well. His name is a pun on "dream" and either "Robert" or "Albert."

Description[edit]

Prince Dreambert is a Pi'illo with red royal clothing. His shoes are white and his pillow head is red. His face is located at the center of his head, making him look slightly different from other Pi'illos. His pillow form is red and has a tan oval with a yellow rim at the center.

Price Dreambert is very formal and confident in his ability to protect Pi'ilo Island. He is prone to anger and frustration, especially when people are not respecting his authority.

History[edit]

Mario & Luigi series[edit]

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team[edit]

Sprite of Prince Dreambert from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

Dreambert explains to Mario, Luigi, and Starlow that there are two powers in the Dream World: the Dream Stone and the Dark Stone. The Dark Stone was destroyed by Antasma and used to petrify all of the Pi'illos. Dreambert requests that the three help free the other imprisoned Pi'illos as they search for Princess Peach. In-game, he explains to Mario how to use Luigi's dream powers to navigate the Dream World. He helps the brothers on the adventure along with Starlow.

At Dreampoints, Price Dreambert transforms into a pillow for Luigi to sleep on. As a Pi'illo, this allows Luigi to create a Dream Portal to the Dream World.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions[edit]

Prince Dreambert makes a cameo appearance in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, where the lobby of Yoshi Theater displays a poster of Prince Dreambert in front of a Zeekeeper statue holding the Dream Stone.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

Prince Dreambert appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Novice-class Shield-type primary spirit with two support slots. It simply boosts a fighter's overall power without offering any special effect. In World of Light, the spirit is located between a yellow and a red hill south-west of the entrance into the Molten Fortress on The Light Realm map. Its puppet fighter is Luigi, fought on the Battlefield form of the Magicant stage where the floor induces sleepiness.
