Robo-Drilldigger X is the more powerful form of Robo-Drilldigger who appears in the Battle Ring, as the first opponent faced in the Giant Luigi arena in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Robo-Drilldigger X has different colors compared to Robo-Drilldigger: The X version is primarily red with yellow used as a highlight and as the color of the drills. The body is black and the eyes are blue.
While fighting Robo-Drilldigger X, Drill Stomp and Hammer Uppercut cannot be used, even if Mount Pajamaja has been defeated.
While Robo-Drilldigger X has the same attacks as Robo-Drilldigger, the order of the attacks is changed slightly. Its attacks for the first three turns are charging with the vehicle form, then shooting the flying form's drill missiles and tackling, and lastly using the base form's small tornadoes. At half health Robo-Drilldigger X fires the giant energy ball, but the player is always allowed to counter it. How the player interacts with these attacks is identical to the original battle.
For the Battle Ring's class 1 battle, the player has to defeat it in 10 turns normally, or 7 turns in Hard Mode. The Hard Mode turn counter is very restrictive, nearly requiring that the player must counter all attacks perfectly and deal the maximum amount of damage with Giant Luigi's attacks.
