The level takes place in an area similar to World 5-6. To progress through the level, Mario must hit a series of P-Switches to turn coins into Brick Blocks (serving as platforms) and rush through the level, hitting every P-Switch along the way to keep the Brick Blocks from turning back into coins. At the beginning of the level, Mario can collect a Gold Flower, which can be used to create shortcuts to Star Coins or to clearing the level in general by turning Brick Block walls into coins.

The level takes place in a lava area filled with many Koopas and Paratroopas, which Mario must stomp on to move further on through most of the level.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: Found in the middle of four Paratroopas flying around it. Mario can stomp on one of the enemies to collect it, or use a Koopa shell.
*Star Coin 2: Found just above the lava and a Paratroopa. Mario must stomp on the Koopa to collect it and make it to the platform just to the right to avoid falling into the lava.
*Star Coin 3: Found just before the spot with a Red Koopa on a platform with three Podoboos jumping next to each other to the right.  Mario must jump down to the left of the Koopa, then wall-jump out of the pit to avoid the lava.  The Star Coin will fly into view above.

The level takes place in an area similar to World 5-3, and is a fairly short Dash Mario-type level. At the start, Mario can collect a Gold Flower before using the Cannon Pipe to move on to the next area with the Cannon. After being fired from the Cannon, Mario must stomp on Bullet Bills to make it though the level. A Gold Ring can be found on a low platform.  If Mario goes to the left of the Cannon, a secret route can be found to a harder course, which is also the only way to find the Star Coins.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: Found by going to the left of the screen after the first Cannon Pipe and taking the more difficult route.  It is floating in the air among the Bullet Bills, and careful control of bounce height is required to grab it.
*Star Coin 2: As above, a little further on after the first Star Coin.
*Star Coin 3: As above, just a few moments before the Flag Pole appears.
