Alarmo uses a motion sensor to detect if the user is moving in bed or gets up. It has five themes based on Nintendo games, with at least two more set to be added in future updates. Two of the themes are based on games in the Super Mario franchise: one based on Super Mario Odyssey available at release, and one future theme based on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Two of the themes are based on games in the Super Mario franchise: one based on Super Mario Odyssey available at release, and one future theme based on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Music from the game chosen plays as the alarm. Using the Gentle Mode will make the music stay the same, but using the Steady Mode will make the music more intense if the user takes a long time to get out of bed. Moving in the bed will play sound effects from the game chosen. When the user gets out of bed after the alarm, a fanfare will play and the alarm music will end. It can also play calm sounds when the user goes to bed. Alarmo has an hourly chime where many Nintendo characters interact with the time. The user can also use Alarmo to track how long they were in bed for and their movements when they were asleep.
== | ==Alarm clocks== | ||
Alarmo features alarm clock themes for each of the five Nintendo games represented. The user can choose a game and one of seven alarms for each game, or have Alarmo choose one game or alarm at random each day. The clock's screen will display the time, date, and set alarm time on the main screen, themed after the selected game.
Each alarm represents a different scenario from the source game, playing the corresponding background music and playing sounds from characters or objects to try and wake up the user. When the alarm is ringing, when the user moves around in bed, sounds play that emulate the player acting in the scenario from the original game. After eight audible beats from moving, the alarm goes into a snoozed mode, or if the user stops moving before the threshold, the beats reset and the user has to start over. While in a snoozed mode, a lighter or quieter version of the music plays, with more subtle sounds playing when the user moves.
=== | When the user leaves bed, Alarmo will play a fanfare that corresponds to the alarm scene set. If the user goes back to bed, the alarm will start ringing again after 30 seconds of no movement. If the user stays in bed for 20 minutes after the originally set time, the alarm is replaced with a more intense alarm from the source game; this alarm is the same regardless of which alarm from the game is set. The intenser alarm otherwise behaves the same.
Currently, Alarmo has alarms themed after Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, and Ring Fit Adventure. Alarms from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been announced to be downloadable at a later date.

===Super Mario Odyssey===
When set, the Super Mario Odyssey theme shows the time in the modern Super Mario typeface. The set alarm is shown on a sliver of the world map. Mario and Cappy walk around the screen, moving relative to where the user is located in front of the device. Between the set bedtime and the upcoming alarm, Mario lies on his back sleeping.
If the user has sleepy sounds enabled, Alarmo will play music from Moon Kingdom's Honeylune Ridge for five minutes when the user goes to bed after the set bedtime. If the user is still in bed after one hour has passed since the set alarm, the alarm stops, playing the sound effect and voice clip of Mario being defeated.
The alarms are themed after the various kingdoms in the game.
====1. Chain Chomp at Fossil Falls====
When the alarm starts, the mission intro theme is played, followed by the Cascade Kingdom music. Sound effects of a Chain Chomp charging up and attacking play to awaken the user. When the user moves, the clock plays sounds of collecting s while Mario jumps and throws Cappy to capture the Chain Chomp. When eight notes are collected, the Chain Chomp is captured and launched towards nearby rocks, and the alarm snoozes.
In snooze mode, the music plays at a lower volume. When the user moves, Mario can be heard jumping around.
When the user leaves their bed, the main mission Power Moon collection jingle is played and the alarm stops.

Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo (also formatted as Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo[3] and referred to simply as Alarmo[3]) is an interactive alarm clock manufactured by Nintendo. It was revealed on Nintendo's social media accounts on October 9, 2024,[7] and made available on the same day as an early-access purchase on the My Nintendo Store exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan, North America, and Europe, and for registration for a chance to purchase in Australia. It was released to the public on the same day at Nintendo New York in North America and on the following day at Nintendo Tokyo in Japan,[1] and is set to be released in other retailers in Japan,[1] North America,[8] and Europe[6] and on the My Nintendo Store to non-Nintendo Switch Online members in Australia[4] in early 2025.
Overview[edit]
Alarmo uses a motion sensor to detect if the user is moving in bed or gets up. It has five themes based on Nintendo games, with at least two more set to be added in future updates. Two of the themes are based on games in the Super Mario franchise: one based on Super Mario Odyssey available at release, and one future theme based on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The user can also use Alarmo to track how long they were in bed for and their movements when they were asleep.[3]
Alarm clocks[edit]
When the user leaves bed, Alarmo will play a fanfare that corresponds to the alarm scene set.
Alarms from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been announced to be downloadable at a later date.[7]
Super Mario themed alarms[edit]
This section is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.
Two games from the Super Mario franchise are represented by Alarmo.

Super Mario Odyssey[edit]
1. Chain Chomp at Fossil Falls[edit]
When the alarm starts, the mission intro theme is played, followed by the Cascade Kingdom music. Sound effects of a Chain Chomp charging up and attacking play to awaken the user. When the user moves, the clock plays sounds of collecting notes while Mario jumps and throws Cappy to capture the Chain Chomp.

When the user moves, the clock plays sounds of collecting notes while Mario's footsteps are heard. When the user collects eight notes, the success jingle plays with Princess Peach cheering on, and the alarm snoozes.
In snooze mode, the music plays at a lower volume. When the user moves, Mario's footsteps continue.

Pauline does not sing along, but calls to the user with sound clips from the game. When the user moves, the 8-bit version of collecting notes and coins are played. After collecting eight notes, the sounds of the defeat of 8-bit Donkey Kong are played and the alarm snoozes.

Intense alarm[edit]
This alarm starts ringing automatically if the user is still in bed 20 minutes after the set alarm time. It is themed after the Hat-to-Hat Combat mission.
When the alarm starts, Bowser roars and his introduction theme is played, followed by the first Bowser battle music as heard in the Cloud Kingdom. Sounds then play of Bowser attacking the user as he does in the game to awaken them. When the user moves, sound effects of hitting Bowser with his boxing glove hat play. When Bowser is hit eight times, he groans and stops attacking, and the alarm is snoozed. If the user stops moving before eight hits, Mario is hit and the power down sound is played.
In snooze mode, the music plays at a lower volume. When the user moves, Mario jumps around, with the sound echoing as it does in Nimbus Arena.
When the user leaves their bed, Bowser is smacked against his ship, and the theme of his airship leaving is played.
Release[edit]
In North America, Europe, and Japan, Alarmo was initially released for early access to Nintendo Switch Online members on the My Nintendo Store on October 9, 2024. In Australia, members instead register for interest in the product through a two-round lottery system for a chance to pre-purchase it, with the product shipping on November 13, 2024. The first round ends on October 14, and the second on October 28.[4] Due to high demand, the My Nintendo Store in Japan has stopped sales of Alarmo and also plans to switch to a lottery system.[1] The My Nintendo Store in South Korea also opened applications for a lottery on October 10.[10]
Alarmo was released to the public on the same day as its online release in North America at Nintendo New York and on October 10 in Japan at Nintendo Tokyo.[1] It will be released in standard retailers in early 2025 in North America[8] and Europe[6] and mid-February 2025 in Japan,[1] and on the My Nintendo Store to non-Nintendo Switch Online members in March 2025 in Australia.[4]
