Bucket Man
A Bucket Man from Mario vs. Donkey Kong on Nintendo Switch.
First appearance Donkey Kong (Game Boy) (1994)
Latest appearance Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo Switch) (2024)

Bucket Men, originally known as Dust Men, are sentient Garbage Can enemies.

History[edit]

Donkey Kong (Game Boy)[edit]

Dust Men debut in the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong, first appearing in Stage 1-3 in the Big-City and later in Stage 3-5 on the Ship. In this game, Mario must be careful when picking up Trash Cans, as they may really be Dust Men in disguise. They usually stand still, pretending to be regular Trash Cans, but when Mario tries to grab them, they will start moving. If Mario touches the side of a Dust Man, he will lose a life, though they can be stood on fully harmlessly. Mario cannot pick up a Dust Man, however, but they can be destroyed by hitting them with a Hammer.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong[edit]

Bucket Men return in Mario vs. Donkey Kong under their current name, first appearing in Levels 1-4 and 1-6 of the Mario Toy Company and later in Levels 6-2 and 6-6 of Twilight City. They act the same as they did previously.

Bucket Men reprise their role in the game's Nintendo Switch remake of the same name.

It looks just like the item's trash can. However, when you get on top of it, it will suddenly show its face and legs and attack you. If you mistake it for a trash can and try to lift it up, it will attack you.
