Super Smash Bros. Ultimate features 124 challenges, with each challenge giving its own reward. Just like in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, when a challenge is completed, an image appears on the corresponding tile and a reward is granted, ranging from spirits to new Mii Outfits. Unlike those games, however, these challenges are sorted by eight categories: Smash, Adventure, Spirit Board, Spirits, Classic Mode, Games & More, Online, and Other.

Golden Hammers can once again be used to instantly complete some challenges, but only a few. Golden Hammers are unlocked after the player completes a certain amount of challenges. The challenges that cannot be completed using the Golden Hammer are bolded.

Boxes containing Super Mario elements have red backgrounds.

Smash Challenge 12 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Dr. Mario Beat a Lv. 5 CPU in a 2-player battle. This must be done with 2 or more stocks remaining, with spirits off, and without handicaps. 1200 Gold
Smash Challenge 15 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Luigi KO 3 people within 10 seconds of starting in Super Sudden Death. Ninja Suit (Mii Outfit)
Smash Challenge 17 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Villager Get 3 KOs within the first minute of a battle. Goo-Goo Buggy (Spirit)
Smash Challenge 20 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Chain Chomp As Pac-Man, get a score of 7650 with his Final Smash. Namco Arcade '80s Retro Medley 1 (Music)
Smash Challenge 23 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Bowser Beat a Lv. 3 CPU in a 2-player battle. You must have a 300% handicap, the CPU must have a 0% handicap, and spirits must be off. All Primaries (Item)
Smash Challenge 24 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate King K. Rool Beat a Lv. 9 CPU in a 2-player battle. This must be done with 2 or more stock remaining, with spirits off, and without handicaps. 2000 Gold
