When Giant Bowser is weakened, a stronger version of this attack called Star Driver is performed. Star Driver is basically the same as Finishing Bros., except that Prince Dreambert expands the star. The star crosshair is not present for this move. Instead, Mario has to dodge the incoming fireballs that Giant Bowser is shooting. After avoiding all of the fireballs, the star goes directly to Bowser, crashes into him and defeats him. If Mario is hit by one of fireballs, the move will end in failure and Bowser will jump out from the pool of lava, forcing Dreamy Luigi to push him back into it once more. If failed multiple times, the player can choose to make the attack easier.

Mario on the star diving down to Mount Pajamaja.

Finishing Bros. is a Bros. Attack performed by Mario and Giant Luigi to defeat giant bosses in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

When the HP bar of a boss is nearly depleted, it flashes yellow, and the menu only gives the option to use this attack. If Mario is tired or lost at this point he recovers or returns as needed. When Finishing Bros. is used, the player must swipe up on the Touch Screen to make Giant Luigi leap into space, where he grabs a star. Mario then hops onto the star, followed by Giant Luigi throwing it towards the weakened boss. While Mario and the star dive into the boss, the player can tilt the Nintendo 3DS to align the star-shaped cursor with the boss's weak point. Bosses stagger or otherwise rock back and forth, shifting the position of the weak point. The boss is defeated no matter how the player aims. Missing the weak point results an "OK!" attack, small gift drops, and a lower coin reward. A direct hit results in a final blow with "Excellent!!" hit effect, and the game will show three "replays" of the impact. The player will receive larger gifts and a greater coin reward.

This move does not fully defeat Bowser during his giant battle. For that fight's final phase, Finishing Bros. is replaced by Star Driver. The same is true against Bowser X.
