A Dream Portal is a portal found in the game in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. When Luigi sleeps on a Pi'illo's pillow, a portal appears. Mario jumps into it in order to enter the Dream World, landing in the Dream World counterpart of the real world area the Bros are in. The other end of the portal is at the start of each area of the Dream World.
When Mario jumps into a Dream Portal in the Dream World, he is pulled into the center. From this point, a down input on the drops Mario to the ground while an up input has Mario leave the Dream World. Once Mario exits the Dream World via use of the portal or a rescued Pi'illo's power, Luigi wakes up and the portal disappears.
On Mount Pajamaja, Mario goes to Dreamy Mount Pajamaja to avoid the Dreambeats. Notes from the Dreambeats are seen coming through the portal while on the Dream World side, and Prince Dreambert does not let Mario go back to the real world. Soon after, the Dreambeats cause Luigi to fall into too deep of a sleep, causing the Dream Portal to close and trapping Mario in the Dream World. A disruption in the Dream World is able to disrupt Luigi enough to cause the portal to reopen, which Mario creates by causing the mountain in the Dream World to erupt.
Other characters are capable of using Dream Portals as part of the game's story. In addition, Antasma wishes on the Dream Stone to gain the ability to create Dream Portals. His portals appear with darker colors.
The menus of the Battle Ring show the boss being fought emerge from a Dream Portal, before transitioning into the battle against them.
