Chain Chomplets, also referred to as Chain Chompers,[1] are young Chain Chomps (or relatives of them) owned by a female bright red Pianta at Pianta Village in Super Mario Sunshine. They behave similarly to their parent species, but make a noise that sounds like a puppy barking. - In Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and Mario Golf: Advance Tour, Chomplet's name can be seen in the score chart.
- The shark-like faces of the Chain Chomplets with the small lower jaw are shared with that of the Elder Princess Shroob's Chain Chomp in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time as well as Template:Media link in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, but not the game's sprites.
- Chain Chomplets share their Japanese name with CiaoCiao and ChowChow, small Chain Chomp characters who appear in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
