- Not to be confused with Big Star Door.
★ doors[1] are doors in Super Mario 64 and its remake, Super Mario 64 DS. They require Power Stars to open. There are eight ★ doors to open (nine in the DS version). There are also bigger variants called Big Star Doors.

- Bob-omb Battlefield, main floor
- Hazy Maze Cave, basement
- Snowman's Land, Chief Chilly Challenge, and Through the Looking Glass (both latter in DS only), upper floors
- Tiny-Huge Island, upper floors
One Star
- Whomp's Fortress, main floor
- The Princess's Secret Slide and Sunshine Isles (DS only), main floor
Three Stars
- Jolly Roger Bay, main floor
- Cool, Cool Mountain, main floor
