History
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Template:Quote2 In Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the Lightbulb is found in Yoshi Sphinx. Mario must jump into its holder four times to release it. It remains in Mario's Album until it is turned into a sticker at a Sling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from the Shady Toad for 80 coins and sold as a sticker for 20 coins.
When it is used in battle, the Lightbulb drops from above and hovers above the ground. It begins to shine brightly at the enemies as Mario ducks. Any enemies that remain are made Dizzy by the attack. The player can press as the Lightbulb is shining to increase the damage dealt.
The Lightbulb is needed to illuminate the basement of a warehouse at Surfshine Harbor. The basement is pitch-black with only a small blinking lamp hanging from the ceiling. Mario must paperize and stick the Lightbulb in the paperization zone. When Mario returns, the small lamp illuminates the entire room and reveals a sleeping Toad and the Ship's Wheel.
Paper Mario: Color Splash
In Paper Mario: Color Splash, the Lightbulb is found at the top of the lighthouse in the parallel version of Lighthouse Island. Once the Lightbulb has been picked up, it is wrung out, refills Mario's paint, and become a colorless card. Once it has been used as a card, it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from the Wringer for 150 coins and sold as an unpainted card for 1 coin. A replica version of the Lightbulb can be collected from the Battle Spin.
When it is used in battle, the scenery changes to a nighttime city setting. The Lightbulb drops from above as Mario ducks. The Lightbulb then turns on and shines very brightly. Any enemies that remain are blinded by the light which causes their attacks to miss. The player can continuously press as the Lightbulb shines to increase the damage dealt.
The Lightbulb is necessary to progress past Lighthouse Island. Mario must use Cutout on the lighthouse's lamp and make space for the Lightbulb card. The lamp shines on a purple Mini Paint Star and removes the wall of pure darkness, allowing the Violet Passage captain's ship to reach Fortune Island and Mario to collect the Mini Paint Star.
