This article is about the character from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! For one of the viruses from the Dr. Mario series, see Virus. For the status effect inflicted by Roy in Paper Mario: Color Splash, see Blue (status effect).

Template:Character-infobox Blue is one of the Brothers Bears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. He lives inside a hut named Blue's Beach Hut, which is located at the entrance to Cotton Top Cove.

Blue's name is derived from the word "blue". In his case, this refers to two things: Blue constantly "has the blues", as his main characteristic is feeling discouraged and sad, and his fur color is blue. In his artwork and Dixie Kong's Photo Album picture, Blue is seen holding a harmonica, another reflection of his sadness. In the Game Boy Advance remake, Blue's sprite was redesigned, and he is seen wearing a red-striped party hat.

History

Blue is sad because nobody remembered his birthday. It is later revealed that Blizzard, the Brothers Bear of K3, did remember Blue's birthday and even got him a present, but is unable to deliver it because they live too far away from each other. Because of this, Blizzard requests Dixie and Kiddy Kong to deliver it on his behalf.

When Dixie and Kiddy go back to Blue's Beach Hut with the present, Blue cheers up and happily unwraps it. The present contains a bowling ball, which Blue claims to have no use for, so he allows the Kongs to keep it.
