- Not to be confused with Spike.
Spike Koopas[1] are short Koopas found only in Mario Party, appearing exclusively in the minigame Key-pa-Way. Their role is to protect Bowser's stash by preventing all four characters from unlocking the door to the Treasure Chest. If a character comes in contact with one, he or she will be stunned or drop the Bowser Key. They can be easily avoided by jumping and tossing the Bowser Key.
They have somewhat frog-like faces and Goomba-like fangs, and a body structure similar to that of Bowser's species.
